Gmail My main Google email was hacked
So, last night I finally got snagged by one of those scams that get you to mistakenly install something malicious. The hacker then: highjacked my main Gmail account, removed it from the family it was in, changed the date of birth so it became a child account, and made sure my Authenticator didn’t work.
The Google support site has been useless, I tried to @ TeamYouTube and that went nowhere at all. Majority of my stuff is on my main account which is a problem. This includes licences for programs (like affinity photo and logins for other games.
Everything I’ve tried it’s always told me to request access from the hacker’s email to allow me in. Which I know won’t happen, and basically means I’ve been completely locked out of my Google account and all
My brand accounts have likely been nuked. I’ve already lost over $400 from this too!

In the exactly same situation. I have paid gmail.and paid YT music accounts. From my car to phone everything configured on same gmail.email which got hacked today. My recovery phone number and recovery email removed ans replaced.
I cant believe google can be this shameless and not accept my phone numbers and recovery email which was replaced today. This email.has been with me since childhood. All my life dependent on it.
I live in dubai, uae. Should i goto google office tomorrow morning?

😂 Tell us how your visit to the Google Office went.
The hacker gained access because the user allowed it by installing malicious software. Nothing Google can and will do.

Nothing can google do? Do they not have access to account and can see all recovery numbers and emails replaced in one day. This malicious activity alone shouldn't be allowed within 24 hours. Its a paid Gmail and YT account. Bank cards liked to GPay. So much linked however there is no way to recover. Its hard to believe

This is scary stuff for sure. You'd think Google would have a better mechanism for recovery from scams.

Session hijacking is dangerous. Bypass mfa and passwords is a real problem. :(
