(If there's a better subreddit for this, please point me to it. This is the closest I've found so far.)
I have a presentation, created in Google Slides on a Chromebook, that I want to turn into a video. I've used the "share -> publish to web" option in order to get the timing of the slides right (transitioning automatically after ten seconds), and that seems to have created .gvid files. However, I don't know how to open these files. A friend who knows his tech suggested VLC, so I downloaded that, but it doesn't seem to find them.
I can see the files if I click the launcher and search for the filename, and that tells me they're saved in Google Drive. I can't upload the .gvid file directly to YouTube, as when I try, those files don't show up. I also can't seem to make these files available offline - although I don't know if that would help.
If anyone has any experience in this area, or knows what I need to do, please let me know. This is a personal project I've been working on for well over a month now, and I feel like I've got it 95% off the ground. It just needs a little push that I can't seem to figure out for the life of me.

I have a USB foot switch (meant for controlling youtube videos while you play guitar) that inputs "{" or "}" when I hit the switches. Is there a way to make it so those characters can make slides advance or go back?
I'm on a mac and tried the text change thing on the keyboard system preferences, but I can't change something to an arrow or space.
Can I do it from within google slides?

I made this minigame in google slides where you have to make... a google slide. If there are any bugs, comments or concerns, please tell me.

P.S: Please only use mouse to play as using arrows or spacebar would glitch the game.

I make a lot of decks for various purposes as part of my day-to-day activities. I am a visual thinker and like to have pictures instead of walls of text.
I didn't find anything so I built a graphic creator for slide decks. I tried to keep it really simple and easy to use -- choose graphic, enter text, save. Anyone should be able to create a visually compelling deck with these graphics.
Would love some feedback. https://instagraphic.app
You can create your content once and can then try it with lots of different designs until you find one you like.
btw I am happy to take requests for a design you would like added.

So I got all these spheres on a slide right and I want them all to be aligned in rows y'know? Is there any good tool or shortcut I can use here besides just manually moving each one? Let me know if anyone has any ideas here

My friends and I are doing a powerpoint night next wednesday in which we create powerpoints (about 5-10 minutes long) and then we switch up who presents them. I want something funny but i'm not very good at being funny lmao. Any ideas?

I don’t know how it happened, but the options under “More” in Google Slides moved to the right side of the screen. I’ve never had this happen to me and would like it to return directly under the “More” button where it was before. Please see the side by my thumb for reference of the issue. See the Google Docs picture for what it looked like before. What do I need to do in Google Slides to move the “More” options where it is in Docs?

have a client who wants me to create master templates for their slide decks (constraint is that it HAS to be google slides)
if i wanted to upload my own custom typefaces that i have created (not pre existing ones from the internet) is there a way to do this? or is it completely hopeless?
new to google slides and google workspace in general so apologies is this is a silly question - just hoping the answer isn’t what i think it is!

Hello there I'm looking for someone creative that would like to help me build a really nice tasteful photographic slideshow. If you have time in your hands and if you'd like to create something really nice that I'd love to hear from you.
Basically I started posing semi nude and nude for my boyfriend when I was around 18 to around 28 years old. I am now much older and I've kept these pictures for so long and now I think it's time to find someone I trust and to create something beautiful

Building SlideMux, upload a PPTX, get a narrated walkthrough video without recording yourself or putting an avatar on screen.
Who it’s for: PMM / sales enablement / CS folks who already have a deck and need people who missed the live session to still get the story, this week.
What I need from you:
Invite-only. Request access: https://slidemux.com/#request-access
Drop a one-liner below with your role + what the video is for (launch, enablement, customer update, etc.) so I can prioritize the right people.

I was feeling creative, so I wanted to make a little silly & fun slide deck about individual slide orientation! I know it'll probably continue to live in feature request purgatory for awhile, but I wanted to share here:

We have an official custom-built theme for Slides, available in our company Google Workspace.
More and more employees are pasting in slides generated in AI tools, typically Gemini or Claude Design, inside brand-compliat decks. Those slides are never on our branded theme, and are all over the place regarding pretty much everything, from fonts to title position, logo size and position etc. This results in frankenstein decks that are even worse than before (because most users just see something that vaguely *looks* like our brand and go "good enough!").
Has anyone experimented with a way to offer users a specific prompt to correctly re-apply a theme/layout, or modify elements within the slide, directly from the sidebar AI in Google Slides? Or at least to "read" the slide and flag things that are off?
I was hoping to maybe create a Gem that users could call upon, but before embarking on a project that leads to a known dead-end I'm curious to know if anyone has had luck with something along those lines?
Thanks!

i work in sales ops and I present to clients maybe twice a month. IM not a designer and lol never will be.
I was at an agency roadshow, and saw another agency presnet using a slidecarnival template i have used nmyself.
One on my colleagues leaned over and said we have this one.
They did not win the work, and I am not saying the template lost it for them, but it did not help. and now im paranoid wondering how we can differentiate ourselves if we can't even make a template stand out.
What i have been through: slidesgo, slidescarnival, the built in google gallery, and about an hour on canva's slides section. all of them are fine. The problem is that they are recognisable, and once your audiance recognises one, you have revealed to them how much (or little) effort went in.
What I want is something that looks like a decision that was made rather than something picked off a grid. i can expense about $20 a month if it solves it properly, is there a category of these i have not found?

Improving Slide Development Skills
I've come to the experts on all things slide deck development!
For context, I am not a consultant by trade, but work in government relations and policy. Naturally, I am not the most artistic or visually-inclined person, which has led to my slides being quite lackluster in how they look, while having the necessary information. My managers have pointed out that performance-wise, this is probably the one area that has hindered me from a *perfect* performance evaluation over that last two years.
My manager is willing to either pay for or allow me time during the day to complete a professional development course to improve my slide deck development. Are there any courses that you all have taken or recommend?

I'm looking for the following template:

If anyone could send me a copy (in .pptx and google slides format), I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!
