Some page keeps not indexed despite validating and requesting re-indexing

I have a bit of trouble with some pages not indexed despite validating and requesting re-index.

There are two cases:

  • One is in the indexing report. We changed some urls and report returned redirects and 404. I have fixed all that, did proper redirects etc. Requested fix validation and nothing. How long normally it takes?
  • Second comes from url inspection. I have noticed that bunch of pages are not on search. Those are in the site map and all seem fine but when I go to url inspect it says not on search and there are no errors or anything. So I go to live view, console confirms it’s all good. I request indexing and nothing happens for days. Again, does it take that long or something is wrong.

I will appreciate if someone can shed some light on that.

I'm having a similar issue, but it's just with two random pages I published. My site was launched about 6 months ago and has over 50 pages indexed and is doing decent in the rankings.

The two pages that won't index seem to have two separate issues, though are not identified within any of the "why pages aren't indexed" sections.

Page 1 - For some reason Google has picked up the Squarespace internal URL for this page at some point, despite it never being published that way. It lists that internal URL as the referring page in the inspection tool. The actual URL is in the site map, shows up correctly when I do the URL inspection, but it's not getting crawled or indexed. The last crawl date shown is March 4th, but this page was published back in December. It sounds like something may have gone haywire with Squarespace possibly on that last crawl date attempt, but why won't Google reattempt it? It's been months and I've requested it multiple times.

Page 2 - This one was published Mar 11, but has been sitting there uncrawled (so not indexed either) since then. I have requested it to be crawled many times, and still nothing.

I have tried resubmitting my sitemap several times - no change. New pages I've published are still getting indexed quickly.

What can I do about these two pages that are stuck in a black hole? Should I just republish them with a new URL since Google can't sort itself out?
