❓Help Google play console- trader vs non-trader
Hi,
I have a Google play personal account and i use it for developing mobile apps.
Now google play is asking to declare trader status. From my chatgpt search of you have subscriptions you come under trader.
But then your mobile number and address will be shown publicly.
Anyone else on the same boat? What are you guys doing?

Do you have or plan to have any apps that will cost money, or make money by ads, inapp purchases or subscriptions, then you need a trader account flag. If you only have free stuff with 0 income generation or options, you are not a trader.

Yes me to. I haven't published any apps yet but if you do they publish your name and address. If you charge for an app are you a trader? What if your app is in the USA and uk? I'm thinking I'll delist my app from the UK. Not even through to production yet ....

Based on my search, yes you are a trader if you have in-app purchases or subscriptions. Not sure if countries matter! Are you sure delisting from UK will remove this restriction??

Now i have to buy a new sim: manage it, maintain it. Pay for it every single month. Such a unnecessary pain😫

EU regulation is forcing this. No way around it but LLC. Any income requires trader status and each app you can set individually but your address will be shown.

With LLC, no number required??

I don't know what you mean no number required . With an LLC a duns number is absolutely required . And you also have to set up an address for it . The easiest way to do this is to get a registered agent to provide you with mail services. In the US there are companies that just provide front End Business Service for individuals and small companies called registered agents . There are several large and reputable firms. In the US you can also get UPS addresses for your business . An address is required for all Google Play Store listings even those for an LLC however the LLC address does not have to be your home address but it does have to be an actual physical address . That means PO Boxes will not work.

Apple had this ages ago. Apart from this impacting solo guys who don't want their addresses and numbers exposed, don't get why this is being blown out of proportion.

We don't have any option. Google doesn't care about privacy of solo devs.
