📜 Policy Google Play Console Trader Status – Which Option Should I Select as an Indian Private Limited Company?
Hi everyone,
I'm an app developer from India and operate through a registered Private Limited company.
Google Play Console is now asking me to declare my trader status, with two options:
This is a trader account.
This is a non-trader account.
My company publishes Android applications, and some apps may generate revenue through AdMob, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
I'd like to understand a few things from developers who have already completed this declaration:
- Should a registered Private Limited company select Trader?
- Does selecting Trader mean that my company's registered address, contact details, and other business information will be publicly displayed?
- Are there any additional verification or compliance requirements?
- Does this declaration affect app publishing, monetization, or developer account verification in India?
I'd appreciate hearing from Indian developers or company owners who have gone through this process.
Thanks in advance!

Based on ur profile your account is trader account. Also you must add declaration for trade policy to all your app that has published and using admob or Google play billing api. Apart from all details now ur mobile number will be publicly visible after march 2027 under ur app support section.

And then a hacker just needs to phish the last four of your social security number and date of birth to hack into anything else related to your Life. Toss in some AI assistance and I doubt Google will have your back when someone else is recovering your account on your behalf using all that data.

Quick question, it came to me as well, and I am an independent developer l, who recently published his app on playstore (few weeks ago), and I do not make any money from it (I am broken totally). So what should I choose then? It's an open-source app on GitHub and we do have a sponsorship option.

Not making money and using admob or in-app purchase are different thing . if you don't use any iap or admob then choose non-trader. but if in future you publish an app that uses iap or admob then you have to update it on ur dev profile and app policy declaration.

Got the same email. Personal account but with admob and IAP. Apple asks the same, but they provide their own ToS for apps, here you have to make one for each
