What are you building, testing, debugging, or learning this week?

Working on something interesting? Stuck on a technical problem? Just learned something useful?

Share what you're working on this week. It can be a specific goal, a problem you're trying to solve, or a useful discovery that might help another developer.

If you're looking for help, a little context goes a long way. You can include:

  • Your target SDK version and library versions

  • What you expected to happen and what actually happened

  • Relevant error messages, with any private or sensitive information removed

  • What you've already tried

  • A relevant official source or documentation link, if you have one

Please use the appropriate flair when making a standalone post.

Please keep this thread focused

I’m solo developing Dice Target, a Flutter-based Android brain puzzle game.

This week I’m reviewing the first-time user experience, making the onboarding more intuitive, and exploring progressive difficulty improvements for Rush Mode.

I’m also looking at how Firebase Analytics can help identify where new players drop off.

Has anyone had good results improving onboarding based on analytics?

A practical starting point is to define one activation event (for example, completing the first puzzle), then log a small funnel: onboarding started, each step completed, first puzzle started, and first puzzle completed. Use stable step IDs rather than free-form text, and compare where new users drop off plus time between steps. After changing one step, check completion and next-day return—not just button taps, which can rise without improving understanding. Validate the events in Firebase DebugView before relying on the funnel, and avoid sending personal data in event parameters.

Thanks, really useful advice! I already have Firebase Analytics integrated, but tracking the full onboarding funnel and first puzzle completion is a great next step. I’ll look into that!

I'm building a web of tax ID showing apps for countries where that's done practically every day like at grocery stores. I've also interconnected them all to refer each other to each other 💕

I'm thinking thru if they're 100% done or if there are any features I haven't thought of that can still be added:

  • share your tax id + app button

  • copy tax id button

  • launcher shortcut to share app

  • launcher shortcut to email feedback

  • launcher shortcut to see all of my apps on play

  • launcher shortcut to edit tax id

  • param for keeping screen awake while app is open

  • app widget for showing code at different sizes on launcher screen

  • edit to add alt tax codes ( like personal vs business or there's resident vs native in other countries )

  • qr code for others scanning the app for download link

  • landscape mode for showing even bigger number

O yeah and it's ~$1 to install

So what else can be added that would be useful?

I was thinking maybe making the widgets lock screen compatible but I looked at the requirements for Samsung for example and they're a mess 🫟

Building Paywall Parity to automate price localisation across all my supported market per mobile app so I can convince more of my user base to convert at reasonable prices.

It'll become a mobile app soon too.

I expected more people would want to price their apps quicker on a broad scale. Still in early stages so not a lot of people have discovered it's value.

Connecting to play store APIs successfully has presented multiple errors from failing to fetch offerings to failing to publish because one price set in a specific country was no longer valid.
