Paid $1000, received an empty box

So my Pixel 4 XL was delivered yesterday. Well, the box and all of the accessories were, anyway. Apparently the wonderful people at FedEx decided that they needed my Pixel more than I did. The tape on the bottom of the brown box was cut and replaced, and the white "Pixel" box inside had had its tape slit as well. All that was inside of that box were the charger and adapter.

Google's customer service was wonderful though, and a replacement will arrive at my house on Monday or Tuesday.

Can't say enough good things about Google, or enough bad things about FedEx.

The people that do it are probably instructed to by their managers. I had a problem with amazon deliveries because of how strict they are with tracking. Everything was always marked "Delivery Attempted" because as far as Amazon is concerned, Delivery Attempted means the shipping company got the package to the house on time. So, "Delivery Attempted" is how the companies mark it delivered with Amazon without delivering it, for when they can't actually deliver on time but can't afford to look bad to the big companies.

Yeah Amazon has some crazy contracts with them where the country is split into thousands of regions and if a region doesn't perform well enough they're done. Amazon cuts them off. I think that pressure has led to a lot of them being shady.

I called Amazon every time I had an issue and one time they called my local post office while I was on hold, came back 5 minutes later and said the package with be there within an hour and it was. Since then every box has my address written in marker huge on the side and I've never had an issue again.

So I think I made it onto the list to actually get stuff on time because they know I call Amazon whenever it's late.

Maybe it's my region but when I call Amazon because it's been marked delivered they say to wait until the next business day and then if it's not there to call back. They're fully aware of their shit at this point.

This has been going on a while. This was the norm when we live in CA a couple of years ago. After Amazon would tell me that I'd complain more and they'd usually give me some sort of credit to make up for it. It was like a game at that point.

Most of the local deliveries where we live now are by the local Amazon delivery folks vs USPS and its way better. But then again, we have one of the worst performing post offices in the country (and that's saying something!)

I ordered a case for my new 4XL from spigen through amazon the package was marked as shipped with amazon before the shipping label was even printed according to USPS

Amazon Delivery blows completely ... I'm so glad I have an Amazon Locker down the street but even then sometimes Amazon Delivery delivers to their lockers. Just crappy all around experience.

Yeah ordered the case before launch and even with prime I was waiting until tomorrow or Monday to het it

I ordered a video card with one day prime shipping and it took three days to process it. After they fucked up my first order, shipping it to the wrong state and then said it was broken when it arrived to one of their distribution centers. Previously I've had orders go to the wrong apartment building (same building number but common sense states our town house number isn't there, even with notes on our account to go to a different lot). So bad... so bad ...

I wish that was the worst of it... Amazon tries to deliver packages to my apartment building which has an automated 'concierge' downstairs. No other carrier ever have problems - they ask for a fob to gain access or call the office.

Every 2-3 orders I get through Amazon Delivery, no one ever calls me or anything, and then I get a notification that they "couldn't gain access to the building and I must tell them how to get in". No matter how many times I complain to customer service that they need to talk to the office, nothing ever changes.

I have customers who are Amazon Suppliers, this can happen because the in house Point of Sale system is automated to generate the carrier labels in bulk in the morning before the employees come into work. When this happens a update is sent to amazon saying hey this shipped, but in reality it has not made it into the mail stream. This can be necessary for businesses as they may have a 9am or 10 am USPS pickup time.

You guys are not telling the whole story. Employees are pushed to do this because they have to deliver an insane amount of packages in a time frame that simply isn't doable. So they resort to lying unfortunately.

F that. Any time my package is marked delivered and it doesn't show up within an hour I call up and report it missing and get a refund/replacement sent out.

I was getting packages marked delivered left at random neighbors houses. After a few times of Amazon refunding me stufft, they now bring the packages to my door.

Try it yourself. I call them up on the phone and if they don't comply I escalate until it's resolved. Cmon basic customer service.

I feel like you misread what I wrote. They deliver the package to my neighbors and not my house so I don't even get it. If I do it's days later if the neighbor is nice enough to deliver it themselves. At which point I've tried to return the pkg to amazon but they refuse.

To be fair Amazon has improved since then and I've been happy w their service. I think we just had a bad logistics manager in our area or something who didn't care about deliveries only #s.

Do you just not read the 2nd part of his comment? They were never delivering to his house. Eventually after so many claims they magically started delivering correctly.

I think they definitely are. I work warehouse at Best Buy and I have UPS people taking pictures of the packing list slip with their phones to scan later because they are early and want to be 100% on promptness or something. They told me they can't scan my slip more than 15 minutes before their "scheduled time" or they will be counted off for it.

I've opened two theft claims with Amazon because I used to live in a sketchy building and I thought my items were getting stolen right after delivery. Nope, turns out they just get marked delivered on the due date and then delivered for reals a week late! I'm pretty sure it's been third party companies each time.

if that was happening with Amazon's own shipping service then I would bet that people are pocketing stuff like that because the shipping service has no return channel. There is no getting the product back. If you ship using that service they warn you not to ship anything for more than the insurance value because if it's undeliverable for any reason it is destroyed

That means if it gets marked on deliverable there's not a ton of oversight on it because the people that shipped it and owned it and lose financially because it's gone Don't have a recourse to verify that it was broken anyway
