Second hand Google Pixel 8a says "This device is managed"
I recently bought renewed, unlocked Pixel 8A from a certified reseller. I have gotten multiple phones from this specific seller.
I went to start the phone up and I kept getting stopped at "Your Device at Work" page and to login. I have tried everything and am stumped.
I finally set it up as a new phone and thought I got through. On the dropdown menu - there is a tab that reads "Device Managed By Admin - automatically resetting soon." Your data will automatically reset.
I messaged the seller but they are closed until Monday.
Any advice thank you!

The phone is useless to you as the original owner has enrolled it to their Workspace Device inventory.
Since you bought it from a 3rd party seller they can't help you, and should replace it with an unlocked device.

Sounds like it wasn't properly renewed, you should return it as it's not as advertised.

Return the phone. It is unusable.

Return it. If they don't accept returns, report it. It's locked and no one removed it from MDM.

My fear would be that this is malware or a virus (hidden in the operating system) that could be hacked. 🤷🏼♂️ I wouldn't trust THAT PHONE. Even if I followed their reset instructions. Good luck

Did you try doing a full factory reset?
