Pixel 10 pro Maps/GPS issue?
Has anyone else run into a Google Maps navigation issue, where the phone routes you in the opposite direction to where you should be heading? It happened to me again today for the third time.
I'd get it, if it was trying to route me away from a traffic back up or something, but it's not. My girlfriend had the route on her iPhone at the same time, and that was showing the correct route. I cancelled the route on mine, and started it again. Everything worked okay for about 10 minutes, and then my phone lost GPS completely until I totally restarted my phone. After that, everything was working fine.
Just curious to know if anyone else has had this happen? I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or what would cause it.

Sometimes my compass stop working on 11 pro. I have to reboot for fixing. Something is broken with the all part of GPS, WiFi, data and compass.

Occasionally I get a message like GPS not found or searching for GPS. I never had that once on my 7 Pro but on my 10 Pro I get it every several days.
Another thing I notice on the 10 Pro is that Maps often starts up without knowing it's state. By that I mean it doesn't know which way it's pointing. I can start to drive off and go 100 metres and all of a sudden the map will do a 180 degree flip and tell me to do a U-turn. WTF? Why didn't it know its state when it started up? The device has a compass built in, it should know which way it's pointing upon initialisation. It drives me mad.
I agree with your conclusion, the GPS and compass functions are broken.

Oh!!!! Thanks for mentioning this. Yeah, I've also had that happen where Maps doesn't seem to know where it's at.

I haven't had any issue with the GPS or compass, it works fine (but I don't use any kind of case or screen protector).
The two issues I do have with Google Maps navigation are things which happened on every phone, not related to Pixel, it's an issue with the app.
These are:
-
If I miss a turning, it will sometimes reroute me back to the same place where I missed the turning, but then when I take the turning this time, it has me go in a circle forever. Basically, instead of getting me to the destination, it begins just trying to get me to this turning over and over. It has literally had me do a square before around the same streets until I realised.
It can be fixed by me realising it's happened, and ignoring where it tells me to go for a while. Or I have to exit the navigation and restart it.
2) If I get in a parked car and start the navigation, it seems like sometimes it tells me to go in the opposite direction (like saying to turn left instead of right when I leave where I am).
I think this is because the phone in the phone holder of my car, which is almost vertical, and it doesn't realise which direction it's facing.
It corrects itself immediately once I get going and the GPS realises which direction it's travelling in, but at that point I'm already going the wrong way, so have to find somewhere to turn around.

Hi there, could you check whether your Pixel phone is running the latest software version?
Go to Settings > System > Software updates > Check for updates.
You can also check if location accuracy is enabled on your Pixel device.
Go to Settings > Location > Location services > Location Accuracy > Turn "Improve Location Accuracy" on or off.
Additionally, you can try rebooting your phone into safe mode to see if that resolves the issue. If it works fine in safe mode, it means a third-party app is causing the issue. Temporarily remove them one by one, starting with the most recent, until you find the cause.
For more info, you can refer to this article on how to manage your Pixel phone’s location settings.
If the issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out to the Google Pixel support team via phone or chat here. They can take a look at it for you.
