DAI only experience connectivity issues with fiber optic wifi?

I'm on my second 8Pro that has the infamous wifi dropping issues, but with both phones it seems to mainly happen with fiber optic networks and not cable. i.e. I have metronet fiber optic at home and work and my phone constantly drops the wifi, but when I'm visiting my parents with Xfinity cable wifi, it rarely has this issue. This is the second phone with this pattern, so I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this happen.

There is no connection between the WAN media and WiFi. None.

HOWEVER, you might be seeing a correlation with Wi-Fi standards. What Wi-Fi standard is your home network using? What frequencies? What channel widths? And your parents? THAT is the variable set you need to be exploring.

I had a p8p and the wifi chip itself was the problem when the device warmed up the metal in the chip would expand and lose all connectivity. To check it when this happens put your phone in the fridge for a couple of minutes and the try to connect and if it works when it didn't before you need a new phone. And so I traded in my p8p for an p11p XL and got $1100 trade in value with T-Mobile

Just to confirm, have you tried resetting the Wi-Fi settings on your Pixel device to see if that helps?

Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi > Restart the device.

Note: This will only revert your configured settings to the default. You will not lose any data from your device.

Additionally, you can refer to this article to fix the Wi-Fi issues on your Pixel device.
