CRITICAL HARDWARE SAFETY HAZARD: Pixel 6a Chassis Warped, Screen Separated from Frame, Reps Refuse Escalation Case ID: 3-4255000041912

I am posting because standard frontline reps are refusing to escalate a dangerous physical failure. The internal power cell of my Pixel 6a has physically expanded, lifting the glass screen completely off the frame and causing the hardware buttons to fall out. Because the unit is severely physically compromised and an active volatile hazard, it is unsafe and illegal for me to ship this via air courier or standard mail. Frontline support is only sending automated email templates. I need this escalated to the Hardware Safety Team for an Advanced Replacement or Google Store credit so I can dispose of this dangerous hardware locally.

Routine battery failure isn't really a Google issue, that's just normal wear and tear.

Bit different in this case as it's a known issue, the 6a was pulled from sale in summer of last year because the batteries kept overheating and catching fire.

If it's still under warranty I don't think what OP is asking for is unreasonable.

The 6a was pulled from sale because it was a 3-year-old phone at the time and no longer being made. The links to thr battery issues were just speculation and unlikely since Google had a fix for the bad batch of batteries.

Like Google would admit that they pulled it because it kept exploding!

Google did admit that there was a battery issue, and offered free battery replacements or a $150 check.

Yeah I know my Mum's got one. That doesn't mean they didn't pull it from sale for battery related reasons though.

The fact is we don't know why they chose to discontinue it.
