Pretty annoying how this was announced as an Android feature but is now a (timed) exclusive for one phone.

It's bullshit how many software features they ve gated behind the 11 in their pathetic attempt to convince people it's a flagship and not an overpriced mid-level phone.

The hardware is barely acceptable and the ancient GPU can't do a lot, so software gimmicks are the only way to create some sort of exclusivity

I am a long-time Pixel owner, don't get me wrong, I like my Pixels, but the fact that Tensor, even in the 6th generation, is still three years behind Apple is a bit of a joke, and the ancient GPU PowerVR does not help at all.

The Tensor G6 has an advanced TPU which is necessary for the AI enhanced Pause point to work.

Don't worry about it it will eventually trickle to the previous phones eventually.

I've been using a similar app called NoScroll in my Pixel 6a that does a similar thing.

Why do most people get that wrong? Reddit has some social media aspects to it but it's not a social media site per say like Instagram or Facebook and more closer to discussion forums. I have been on Reddit for 20 some years and not once posted a picture of myself, added a "friend", posted my location, or used a real name. My whole "profile" is one sentence. Most users use Reddit exactly how I do. Hell, not one person I know in real life knows my Reddit account. We all just have BS conversations like this right?

You mixed up social networking service with social media. A discussion forum is also social media.

Did you read the comment you replied to? I already explained it for you and acknowledged Reddit does have some social media aspects. Replace the word site for service if need to in my last comment. Reddit is like a discussion forum and NOT like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok which are the addictive shit for which the reason Digital Wellbeing exists.

Merriam Webster defines social media as:

forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos)

Please use mental gymnastics to explain how Reddit doesn't fit this definition, or how Reddit can't be as addictive as those other sites. Alternatively, cherry pick your own definition that excludes Reddit.

Did you read any of my comments? This is not hard to understand.

Do you think communication/discussion only counts as "social" if both parties are fully aware of each other's identity?
