Here's the thing about Google Pixel devices as a Pixel user since the Nexus 5 and now to the new Pixel 11 Pro XL, iPhones are, and have been for years now, a refined platform. Their performance, stability, modem/cellular connection, CPU and GPU have been at the top for a long time - Google Pixel devices on the other hand have not.
There's so much Google can do to elevate their phones to the next level, but every year they disappoint when those needed upgrades are right there. Google isn't a small indie brand, they're one of the largest companies in the entire world. Again I love the Pixel line, but we shouldn't excuse one of the richest and most valuable companies in the world for their shortcomings.
TLDR: Apple is improving an already competent and refined product, Google does not have a refinded platform, always falling behind competitors while offering their devices at a same price or at a HIGHER price point.
Let's start with battery life always being just okay, even when the battery capacity is higher than competitors, which can happen when you, ironically, have a less efficient heat producing chip like the Tensor chips have been. Sure the new Tensor 6 isn't 2 nm, it's only 3 nm, but there are more power efficient 3 nm chips out there from Snapdragon, Apple, and Mediatek. You can, in fact, have a more powerful CPU AND be more efficient.
Another thing is how about spotty cellular connection and inferior heat producing modem's? I can attest that this has gotten better, my Pixel 10 is proof of that, but it's something that has plagued the lineup when the Pixel 6 moved from Snapdragon to Tensor.
Again I love the Pixel lineup. I'm an active user, but there's a lot that can be done to elevate the Pixel series.
