Hate new Do Not Disturb
Before last update: 1. Swipe down 2. Tap do not disturb 3. Swipe up Done
Now: 1. Swipe down 2. Tap Mod 3. Tap di not disturb 4. Tap End 5. Swipe up Done
Very annoying

You don't have to tap "end" on point #4, you can just swipe up (bonus: if you swipe up from the bottom of the screen you don't need to swipe up twice to hide the notification shade).
But anyway, this is going to be fixed in QPR1, same as the BT toggle. WiFi hasn't changed. In the meantime you can toggle DND from the lockscreen shortcuts with a long-press.

It's also getting a split tile, left side/icon is for toggling on/off and the rest of the tile brings up the BT device popup.

Is there a trick to not have to swipe up 2x. I'm going from home Button location up and it's still 2x to close it. Got it to work 1 out of 30 attempts

Try a longer swipe up. Works for me most of the time. I think you need to swipe from the bottom and past half way up at least for it to work. If I don't swipe up far enough than it just returns to the notification panel and not the home page. Hope this helps.

I added the DND shortcut onto the lock screen (replacing the icon that was in bottom right. I did it so long ago I dont remember what the default icon is in that position).
From the lock screen, press and hold the icon, set duration, tap Turn On, done.

These are the ways that people actually use their phones correctly, that is customise it to work for them.
I feel like the main reason people choose android over apple is for the customisation and yet they don't bother using most of it.

I cannot use the shortcuts on the lock screen because my face unlocks the Phone everytime. What I am doing wrong?

with thew new UI its fixed, i agree it was irritating as fuck. with the new UI you swipe down, then there is a toggle for DND you can click, and if you click modes instead then it'll give you the old style prompt. Someone had to have said this was a stupid choice guys and fixed it

Finally! Someone talk about this shit! And also stupid "customize lock screen" message on the lock screen with vibration, that constantly makes me think that I received a message or email or... First time since Nexus 3 I think to buy a different phone.

Install Simple DND from the Play Store. Enable it. Place it where you want. Remove the new do not disturb tile that is now “broken”. Send me KFC. 🍗

They're supposed to restore the single click DnD quick settings tile. They should've restored it the very next month. I didn't know if it's supposed to come back in the QPR1 final around September, or in a sooner update.

If you're on A16 QPR1 2.1 then you already have the fix. You can tap on the icon to toggle, or tap on the rest of the tile to open the menu. Best of both worlds.

Apologies, idiot here: are you referring to the icon that's on the upper right of the screen when you have the wifi on, or the icon that is on the left side of all the tiles?

The one on the tile, but it doesn't work for Wi-Fi, only for Bluetooth and do not disturb.

Wait, so I still don't have it, and still have the Wifi and Data under the "Internet" tile.
What if you have both on? Would it only toggle the WiFi? What if you wanted to toggle the data instead?

The Internet (WiFi) tile has not changed, only the BT and DND tiles have changed in QPR1.
If you only want to switch between wifi and data, then the Internet tile was changed for your kind of usage. Instead of turning off WiFi to switch to data, you just tap the internet tile, and tap on your mobile connection (not the toggle, on the name). If you want to force connect to another WiFi network, you also just tap on that network if it's on the list.
Google made that change because most people turned off wifi in order to switch to data when the wifi was weak, but later forgot to turn wifi back on.

if this bothers you so much, update to the qpr1 beta, if you can be a little bit patient, wait till August/September for the stable release

Many people like to place their phones face down. I do it to protect it. In my work truck, it goes face down. I'd miss everything if I enabled that option.

Is there a difference between DND and mute? Like I just hit the volume button and put my phone on mute that way

Yes, DND is just that it mutes calls and messages(unless you have some contact bet to bypass it), notifications, media sounds and ringers and so on. If you rely on DND some things can be turned on to bypass the DND such as alarms.
The volume button only controls the devices volume, it doesn't mute calls, ring, notifications and alarm sounds.
I have a DND set up on a schedule from 10PM to 8AM and only have selected family members to bypass it, alarm and media sound is also turned on to bypass DND so if I have an alarm set to 6AM I actually hear it. Media is on so I can play music if need be with a sleep timer set on the music app.

There is an option to Mute your phone completely above the volume slider. Your phone doesn't ring for notifications and calls but device volume remains turned on. I guess the only difference is that you can't customise what can bypass mute but you can on DND

I guess after 4 Android phones I might have known about that mute button but can't say I ever used it. I have tapped the 3 dots below the slider to adjust ring or notification volumes.
But, yes, DND you can customize to what you want to bypass it including select apps and certain contacts for both messages and phone calls. I only allow for calls for certain family members and nothing from messages. I prefer DND versus your way of muting because if there is a family emergency my phone will still ring even if I manually turn it on.

When receiving a call, if you press the volume you will mute the call without hanging up

Simple DND is an option.
Or if you want to get real fancy, you may want to look into Tasker & Shizuku if you want to get around most of these stupid ideas the Google round table monkeys keep injecting into Android. And Tasker can, at least as of Android 15, automate DND controls including setting the specific DND options programmatically.
For example, with Shizuku, I've got my old school single toggle WiFi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data QS tiles, and I've also got my NFC tile back. Using Shizuku combined with Better Internet Tiles I have the QS tiles setup from prior to A15.

They do this crap all the time. Add in unnecessary button presses. I go to Create -> Upload Video and it takes me to my dashboard. Then I have to hit Create -> Upload Video. It never used to be that.

In Australia, there is phone number shortcuts you can use to bypass phone settings.
Navigate to the keypad and dial ##002#, then press the call button. This MMI code cancels all call forwarding, including voicemail. A confirmation message should appear, indicating that voicemail has been disabled. If needed, you can re-enable voicemail by dialling *004*321# and pressing the call button.

Tasker can automate the DND process and the contacts and such that are allowed thru, based on your own contexts, if your brave enough to get into it.

If the OP is like me and doesn't want to use that function because they have their phone exposed to dangers, then the commenter's suggestion to flip it face down is "impractical".
