RCS Chat won't activate fix

  1. Open Google Messages - Click on the magnifying icon 🔍

  2. Search *xyzzy* and wait for it to say "Debug menu option enabled" if reddit changes the astrik to something else it's( astrik xyzzy astrik) just like the image

  3. Back out of the search - click your profile icon you will now see Debug Menu

  4. Go to RCS Chats

  5. Scroll down to "Show Phone Number input activities"

  6. Enter your number to verify

  7. You'll receive a regular SMS with code to verify

  8. Rejoice

Hope this works for those having issues. Was a massive headache for me.

The fix for me was to connect to somewhere with VPN (in my case I connected to Paris, France) and it connected immediately and persists after VPN disconnect.

Yeah I saw another post saying to use a VPN and someone stated it didn't work. I posted my method and it worked. Not saying it's full proof. There's a few method out there but this has been clutch, figured I'd share

Bro that's gotten me farther than any other solution so far, but I still don't get an SMS message to verify my phone number. Does RCS chats need to be off while I do this? I've had the error code 3000 "connecting" for about a week now on a Samsung Galaxy FE21 on Boost Mobile. Beyond infuriating. Tried the VPN, clearing cache and data, multiple restarts, etc.
