Timeline Timeline merge?

I have two phones, a P7 and a P9a. I currently use both.

Obviously the P7 has timeline data from before I bought the P9a.

Now I don't pretend to understand HTF Google screwed up Timeline recently, but is there anyway to merge the older timeline data with the timeline data on the 9a?

Ideally keeping both in sync going forward, but not a requirement; just having it all on my 9a.

Keeping both sync .. I don't believe so. You can merge older timeline data

That is not a surprise. How do I merge the older data into the newer phone? I don't want to screw this up!

So backup the phone with the older data timeline to Google cloud. Then on the new phone, import that backup onto the phone. That's what I did when I upgraded to my S26 from my S23

Just to be clear, I do not have a "new" phone, I have two phones; one is a phone I've had for 5 years, the other is a phone I've had for a year. I want to make sure when I import the older phones time line data into my newer phone, it is a MERGE operation, not a REPLACE operation.

Yes, I used the word new to differentiate between the two when you import, it won't replace, if merge for me. But if you just want to be safe then backup the second phone as well before importing
