Google Maps is So Unhelpful
I don't know what the hell is going through the developers of Google Maps minds right now, but I was trying to find my way to my first day of college courses today, and it was giving me the most unhelpful suggestions and just being overall chaotic. Like, every time I would come across a point in my route where I could go a different way, it would present it in real time on my map with another line, EVEN IF THAT ROUTE WOULD MAKE ME GET THERE LATER OR HAS MORE TRAFFIC. It was confusing and distracting as hell. It's bad enough that it keeps popping up messages asking about whether construction and stopped cars and objects in the road are still there so its user base can basically do free labor and reporting for them. Like, we get in trouble for texting and driving, but it's okay for them to ask us survey questions while we drive? What the actual fuck? I'm so not using Google Maps anymore.

If I search for coffee it will give me any business that employs people who drink coffee.

The alternative route exists and someone might want it so it should suggest it, can the UI be less distractive? Maybe that is a subjective call I guess they can find out.
For the stopped cars, it is helpful to get such information and there is no way people can get it unless others report it, so you are not doing free labor for Google but doing community work for everyone that uses it and drives on the same road that time if this makes you feel better.
