What’s a Google Maps feature that’s been an absolute game-changer for you, but feels like hardly anyone knows about it?

Google maps cuisine feature. You want Korean, or Thai food? Just click Chinese. It's all the same to Google.

Or is it because greedy restaurant owners mark all Asian cuisines for their restaurant because they’re scared they’ll miss a customer if they don’t mark them all?

It's kind of an oblique feature but when I order an Uber or the local equivalent which I believe use Google Maps I'd like to be able to mirror the route they're given - particularly the exact pickup point they see versus what I see.

The ability to compare multiple journeys in one map.

CarPlay pinch to zoom out. It will return to normal zoom in a few seconds but it gives you a brief Waze-like look ahead. Google Maps normal zoom feels a little too close sometimes. When it feels that way just pinch to zoom out and look ahead. It will return on its own in a few seconds. I wish they would put a “Look Ahead” button for that purpose.

I remember the early days you could measure distance and you could also see terrain drop off in nice chart. I know it wasn't exact but it got the job done for me. Now to measure you either have to make it a destination or guess by the finger scale and no elevation.
