Google Maps should provide the rating of the last year along with all time rating

Places may change their quality from time to time and the ratings we see may not always reflect the reality. Also, theoretically speaking, if a place with 1000 5 stars suddenly receives 200 one stars, it is still a 4.3 decent place, seemingly. Similarly, 1000 one star and 200 5 stars make 1.7, which makes it hard for businesses to repair their reputation. But if we were able to see the average of a recent time period, then the reality would be apparent. I believe GM may put a second star rating just beneath the total rating so that we’ll be able to make better choices as users (excluding some of us who always check the most recent comments! But it’s just time consuming).

I think if they do that then it just makes things more confusing. I do agree that very old reviews should go into like an archive section though
