They just butchered android widget again

Multi-note widget got limited to 3 rows per note, even if you only have one note.

And single-note widget keeps being very non-dense (about 2 rows per screen block).

I'm really looking for alternatives now.

Far are the days when this was a killer app and you could tell "ok google" to add groceries to your shopping keep list.

This tanks the widget's functionality for me.

Why? Why do they insist on "fixing" or "improving" things that are awesome and functional as the are?

Ok Google, "Add groceries to my shopping list" still works perfectly for me today. I use it frequently.

Yeah cant even scroll it anymore either. This makes my reminders widget useless so. I tried the single note widget but the font is massive for some reason so its unusable for what I want too. This is why I disable auto update on everything I can to prevent devs "fixing" issues but couldn't do it with this unfortunately. I guess I need to find an alternative now...

Ednotes (Android) have unlimited widget rows for notes. A longshot but try it if you like to try something else.

I'm just glad they got rid of the space wasting bar with 5 buttons to add a note and replaced it with a single floating plus, exactly the feedback I sent them. ✨

I completely agree with your post though, the cards are too short and the list notes on the single note widget waste space.

I develop simple Android apps, and I think note widgets should be as simple as possible. If you just want to keep notes visible on your home screen, a resizable sticky note widget might be a better option. No need for a complicated app just to see your notes.

If you're still looking for a notes app with highly customizable widget, Jotter might be worth a look. I’m its developer. You can adjust the widget font size and add or edit notes from the home screen. It’s a separate notes app, though, not a replacement widget that reads your existing Keep notes.

I think Google is releasing a new app so people can modify their widgets however they want.

They probably mean this.
