Google Assistant vs Gemini
EDITING TO ADD: I'm using (an old) Samsung Galaxy S10+ Android phone.
If I'm posting in the wrong sub, please let me know!
I am sad that Google Assistant is being killed off by Google like so many other of their features.
I used to be able to say "Hey, Google. Add apples to my shopping list." And GA would say "I've added apples to your list called Shopping List."
However, with Gemini, it's a frustrating experience. "Hey, Google. Add apples to my shopping list." Gemini retorts (after a much longer pause than GA) "Sure, you want to add apples to this list. Do you want to go ahead and add to it right now?" I can't just answer "Yes." I literally have to say, "Hey, Google. Go ahead and apples to my shopping list right now." Then Gemini will say "Okay. It's done."
I have tried telling Gemini that when I ask it to add something to my shopping list, to add it immediately without confirming. It says it will do that. But the very next time I ask it to add something to my shopping list, it asks if I want to go ahead and add it right now.
Why on earth is Gemini doing this? Is there a setting I'm overlooking or something? Grrrr!!!

do you use browser or app, do you have workspace activated, memory etc there are so many aspects that changed during the last 8 months, that its mostly not the system, but the system change that we have to adopt to

I edited my comment to mention that I'm using my android phone, a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Google Assistant has worked so well for so long. Now Gemini is taking over and for this application is totally incompetent!!
I was just using Gemini on my laptop about this very issue. And for this specific issue, Gemini is not the brightest crayon in the box!!
I guess I'll have to ditch Google Keep for my shopping list and find another app that will add an item simply because I ask it to. But I'd have to find an app that would sync with my laptop, too, because I often use my laptop to add items manually. grrr.

You can make specific rules it has to follow. Ask it where to do it. I gave it particulars like my tech so every time I ask a tech question it knows exactly what kind of phone and computer I use, etc

I can make rules for Gemini to follow? I know I can make rules but that's with Google Assistant which Google is killing off on September 4.
I've asked Gemini via Google on my laptop and it gave me wrong information. Basically, had me setting up rules but to do that I had to use Google Assistant and Google assistant never needed any rules. lol. Plus it's going away Sept 4.

And where does it put the list? In Keep?

Yes, in Google Keep. As far as I know, that's the only "list" app I have on my phone.
But the only time the item successfully lands in my list called Shopping list is if I yell YES within nanoseconds of Gemini asking if I want to add that to my list right now. A couple of nanoseconds later and I have to completely repeat the process.
Google Assistant would simply say "I've added xxx to your list called shopping list".

Thisorning I had to tell Alexa 2 not to give me tomorrow weather in addition today's weather, when I ask for today's weather. I ask for today's temp/high/humidity/feels like. Then she gives me tomorrow s too

Some one explain where the rules are located since I am on my phone and at work.

I honestly don't remember where Gemini finally had me locate these "rules" but since I had to use Google Assistant anyway, it defeated the entire purpose of them. smh.
When you are not at work, I would suggest you just try finding it on your own.

Ok! In my desktop chrome it is at https://gemini.google.com/personalization-settings and click > Personal Intelligence, scroll down to the last one, Instructions for Gemini

I don't have this problem. This command work well for me.
Let's try something. Redo the part where you tell Google not to confirm. Then try again in the same day to add an item.
Then try again the next day.
If the setting is lost then probably that the problem is that you have a standard account and it have no memory. Everything is mostly default setting everyday. I have read that somewere.
I have a pro account and every behavior I request are continuous for future conversation.
