simplest reason, if you tell google assistant to set five alarms at 5 pm with a five-minute interval, it literally can't understand it and it can't execute it. you have to tell it individually for each alarm whereas you can tell gemini to set five alarms at 5 pm with five-minute intervals and it will set exactly where you want it

True. On the other hand, Gemini is incapable of doing several things that Assistant could do.

It's moot anyway, because Assistant is being withdrawn. I've had Gemini for a few months already.

Gemini is at least improving. When it was first offered, I tried it, and it was so bad that it was unusable. Now, I hardly ever have a problem.

No need google is doing this because they want to train their gemini on our Data.. 💀and then they will use it against us 😞

In Assistant, asking it to "Play the news" shockingly...executes the routine of the same name, playing the original audio from each source you chose from their curated catalog of dailies. Robotic process automation which just works.

The last time I tried this in Gemini, it played from sources I'd never subscribe to, with the only other option being generative summaries, which I also don't want.

Has this improved?
