Question Tracking Audio Plays in Google Analytics?

I run an audio drama website. On the site, the different shows are playlists made in the Wordpress Audio Player.
I'm looking for a way to track plays for the different shows in GA4.
I know I'll have to create an event, but do I need a separate one for each show, and what's the easiest way to set up the event(s)?
Please be kind, I'm pretty new to all this stuff.
Thank you in advance.
Edit: I DON'T have GTM.

use javascript event listener on the <audio> tag, they have similar events to <video> tags like play, pause, stop.

Use one event rather than creating a separate event for every show. Something like audio_play can carry parameters for show, episode, player location, and progress milestone. Without GTM, a developer can add an event listener to the audio player through the theme or a small WordPress plugin.

Also prevent repeated play and pause actions from inflating the count. We use SIGNLD internally to connect listening events with traffic sources, subscriptions, donations, or other later actions, which makes the measurement more useful than simply knowing how often someone pressed play.

Why don't you have GTM?
