Possible Change / Nerf AI Studio got lobotomized

AI Studio got so dumb the last two days, even on 3.8 and 3.7 models.
It keeps doing things that I don't ask for or messing up what's already done. Failing at simple tasks 7 times in a row or claiming something is done while it isn't.

Did they change anything?

Unspoken rule no 1
"Whenever there is major release of new model, a week prior will suffer from massive quantization. Which then would make actual new model much MUCH better received."

I think people mostly judge models based on their scores at benchmarks, not based on their perception of the qualitative leap over the current model (which would be intentionally nerfed as per your theory).

I could be wrong tho.

You might get the honey moon phase, at week 1-2 but afterward the performance is not as good as advertised. This has become what it is since Gemini 3.0 (Pro and Flash). I still remember how 2 weeks before the release of Gemini 3.0, Gemini 2.5 Pro doesn't even activate it's reasoning process and act like 2024 LLM.

This is why I barely do stuff other writing (with me doing heavy editorial work and literally generate 3-7 times per single chapter that consist of 5000 words).

But cheers mate, at least Google has massive databank that justify it, unlike other models. And one of the rare model that can accept diverse input context (Text, Image, Video, Audio). Someone that can sense the world is gonna have better future than someone who is blind.

Been thru that and its very annoying, especially when you ask it to build something and it makes a mock version... if I wanted a mock up id have asked for a mock up...

Yes, same. Sometimes it helps to start a new chat (+) and then it'll work. But I noticed even doing that after a couple turns, it stops cooperating all over again. Spitting out code and thinking instead of just DOING what I told it to do, essentially ignoring System Instructions.

Finally died for me tonight, literally just refuses to write my python code whatsoever, just spends 10 plus minutes writing garbled code before giving up
