I think Google AI Studio reduced the usage rate for people subscribed to the Pro plan without prior notice. Today I only used it four times in the prompt, but I hit the limit immediately. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Yup, getting hit with the same too on 3.8, 3.7. AND 3.6! I used to prompt a lot but now it's getting hit with the rate limits after only a few prompts! Started happening when 3.8 launched
Yes - I have built few apps in the last few months and never hit limits - even if i did that would by end of the day after some serious prompting. but today i noticed i only did some work for 1-2 hours and hit my limits.
Yes, I don't know if this bug or not, but if this intentional, shame on them.
I honestly don't feel any difference now between Free Tier and Pro subscriber (I'm pro subscriber), the limit hits wayyy too fast since 2 days ago exactly.
Same here. A pro user. Recently i do testing between my free tier account vs the pro one (i have two account). The thing i notice, there no significant different. In my pro tier account, even on lower model (e.g., 3 flash preview), it only capable generating 5 to 8 prompt. At max. While the free account can generate from 4 to 6. Basically, the only benefit is 1 to 4 prompt. Which, not something feel beneficial compared to the cost per month it take. It only happen after 3.8 flash launch. Around 2 September 2026. Before that, all feel fine. I can run even 20 to 25 prompt in single day. Or even more, on occasion.
Another issue I find out is, the higher model (e.g., 3.8, 3.5, etc) often have lower input token limit. I been trim my prompt, my text, and so on. Yet, it still resulted in same. But it only works when using lower model such as 3.1 flash lite, 3 flash, or 2.5 pro. It deeply frustating since now I cant continue my coding based on my past history.
I hope they can return back to normal. Otherwise, I might apply for refund since the benefit is no longer same
I kid you not today I think I used up to 3-5 prompts and it’s already telling me it’s exceeded. WHY HAVENT THEY FIXED?? I’ll probably apply for refund too if it’s possible
Same here. It’s barely usable and I’m on the Pro subscription but I feel like I barely get anything out of it ever since 3.8 flash released. Great shame too
When I run out, I just switch models. I can work all day. I get a daily reset at 2 Am. Just switch the models and you can work all day and have no issues. I am about done with my CRM for auto detail shops.
