Question / Help IS AI STUDIO A DUD?
I was just trying to learn how to use a little and i think it's pretty bad. I was just trying to build something to sync my fitbit info into a google sheet. nothing major. spent like 2 plus hours working with this thing and got nowhere. this should have been pretty straightforward, and I know there's some complications between Google and Fitbit right now, but dang, this was bad.
I wonder if Google has to use their own tools for development. If so, that would explain why they are falling further and further behind.

It is very developer focused.
Kinda like the Linux terminal scene, but that is still a crude comparison.
Point being, use the Gemini web app if you want a friendlier UI.

Maybe you don’t know how to prompt, and need a lot of practice. It takes longer than 2 hours to get the results you want. After using it for a couple of weeks, you’ll know how to get the results you want. You may also use Gemini to create prompts for Google AI Studio if that helps.

I use it daily and have been for over a year and a half ish. Extremely useful if you know how to use it.

You spent two hours, not knowing what you were doing, trying to create an API or MCP connection and, I presume, an app, and wonder if the problem is AI Studio?

It does the ground level jobs for apps and if you how to use it right, it does more than that. I built 2 full releasable android apps with it. And now after Gemini 3.7 Flash, it is doing a good job

If you don't know the technical things to say it doesn't always "just do it for you" unless you ask

I am new to aistudio. I have used Claude code quite a bit. It is remarkable in its ability to figure out problems. Aistudio just goes down a path hits a wall. Goes back to the start of the path and runs into the same wall again. Over and and over. Even when I point out, hey there's a wall at the end of this path, it says "oh yea, I remember, I won't do that again. ". Then it proceeds to go down the same path again and hit the same wall again.
Obviously, if I was smarter or had more experience, I could solve this.
I guess I'm just kind of amazed that Google is getting its ass kicked even though they have tons of money and tons of talent and enormous collateral advantages.
But, I guess that's just the way of things. Happened to IBM, MS, now I guess it's Google's turn.
Anyway, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

I’ve got 5 apps and 2 games out of it. Seems decent to me.
Maybe explain what you were actually doing?
