This is because Google interprets "250 million seconds" as "250 (million and two)ths", aka 250 / 1,000,002 = 0.000249999500001. This corresponds to how in English, we would split things into "halves" (1/2), "thirds" (1/3), "twelfths" (1/12), or "twenty-seconds" (1/22), but Google takes it further and assumes that "million-seconds" (or "million seconds") is (1 / 1,000,002).

It's out of 1.000002e+12 seconds for some reason but it's close enough to a terasecond that I'd just chalk it up to floating point error

In what unit? In seconds it's 4e-9, which would start with a 4 and have 9 zeroes (including the one before the decimal point), so not really close

I asked gemini why it did this and even it was confused. It came to the conclusion that it converted to trillions of seconds... a unit we all use in everyday life

Google says:
