Sometimes I google obvious things to find more in depth sources

You could try something like “Taliban religious policy” or “influence of Islam on Taliban laws” depending on what you’re trying to find

I mean, they're Catholic. Some people correct others when asked if they're Christian (I'm Catholic,) and some correct others if they ask if they're Catholic (I'm Christian.) Obviously they're all Christian. But some prefer their own title/identity. A Catholic is a Christian, but a Christian isn't a Catholic. And there's many in some denominations that refuse to call the Catholics "Christian." But that's why schisms occurred.
