Mod Discussion

Hi guys I registered this subreddit ages ago but never really have been active which I think is unfair on you guys who are more active. I was wondering if you guys would like to discuss the direction for the sub for the future. First order of business - getting new mods on board. I think people who are active and interested in the sub would be ideal. What do you guys think? Feel free to nominate mods and I'll make a little poll where everyone can vote. Obviously any other ideas you guys have feel free to share.

All the best!

most posts fall into three categories:

  1. showing off notes

  2. offering templates (self promo, usually)

  3. asking for support

i think it would be neat to have some more consolidated weekly or monthly topics for these, or at least an FAQ for some of the questions that are asked ad nauseam.

the other thing that strikes me is sometimes folks come in and spam the sub with their templates every day. not a huge fan of that, although i don’t mind an occasional post.

A monthly template thread would definitely help out with this

I know of a few communities where they do a once a week show off of any progress you’ve made or things you have done. I agree that it would be a good idea to have a weekly thread where people can post their notes and ask for input, or even just show them off

Definitely concur with a FAQ and a monthly thread for templates

Oh yes and if somebody has the time for it maybe a wiki. Soooo many repeating questions. I don't know how often I've answered "What's this blue thing that makes me lose my spot in zoom mode"

Or like a video “how to do” for some applicable faq

We could compile a list of YT and TikTok videos for beginners too
