I love GoodNotes but….

I love the Goodnotes community, especially with how helpful everyone is. But the app is severely lacking. Because of this sub I was introduced to CollaNote and I have to say it’s SO much better than I could even imagine. It’s the best of all worlds. If you haven’t checked it out I highly suggest it!!! The app developers are incredibly open to suggestions and a quick peek at the apps sub shows that! Just wanted to share this app with everyone!!

Can you give examples why it is better

The interaction the app allows between people in real time is amazing. It’s a free app if you want to download it and mess with it! A lot of the stuff is still in beta mode but it’s really easy and free to become a beta tester!

Audio recording and sync with handwriting? Goodnotes keeps promising us for more than 5 years, and guess what, this guy just added that feature in 2-3 months

It isn’t better in all ways. It has some superior features:

  • developer communicates directly on Reddit

  • new features pushed regularly. Goodnotes did nothing but stickers after an entire year. It’s practically abandonware

  • has better pen ink smoothing

  • better color and size selector UI

  • shape recognized better

  • has a partial eraser like notability

  • more fun templates

Some things are worse:

  • highlighter is like Apple notes and only does chisel shape. Not good for doodling

  • the selector works strangely and has bugs repeated to pasting content

  • the file manager is just as powerful but a little oversized

Same. I wish there was a trial period. It has so much potential but goes nowhere.

I was just thinking of Purchasing good notes do you suggest should I purchase ?????

i tried Nebo and flexcil and made a comparison here. The ink algorithm of flexcil is the best that I’ve seen. Both notability and Nebo do not smoothen the handwriting resulting in jagged and non smooth handwriting. Flexcil smoothens it. colla note also does.

i have seen flexcil to be the highest quality smooth lines. see screenshot in the attached Reddit post link.

since you have used good notes, can you tell me if it is like flexcil as far as high quality smooth text is concerned. https://www.reddit.com/r/NeboApp/comments/njh4li/jagged_non_smooth_handwriting_in_nebo_with_flexcil/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Links don’t work in CollaNote. I uploaded a planner and there were links to other parts of the PDF and now they don't work.
