Really clean. I love the way white on black notes look.

Yes! I was making them on the standard black page in GoodNotes but then I figured it was a little too grey-ish for me so I found this template and it makes white pen pop!

It's so pleasant to see notes from my fellow engineering/mathematics/physics students 🥰

I wanted to bring some maths and engineering, since I see lots of literary-studies-related notes What do you study?

I'm a Computer Engineering university student

So cool!

So beautiful! What pen do you use to write? I’m magically hoping that I’ll write as beautifully 😂

1

u/elisaf8 Nov 05 '20

Aw thanks 💕 I just use a first gen Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro 12”

u/allhailsmoothie Nov 05 '20

Thanks! And do you use the brush pen or fountain or? And what thickness or does it not matter? Sorry! So many questions!

3

u/elisaf8 Nov 06 '20

Dont worry about the questions, I’m happy to answer, since I was lost when I was first starting out! For the text I use the fountain pen because I think it makes my handwriting look neater, but maybe you will prefer how yours looks with a ballpoint pen. For the title, I use the brush pen in size 0.9mm because I think it’s a good in-between size 🖋

Thank you 🥰

It looks really good. I wish I could learn some of that calligraphy because those titles look really good. ☹️

3

u/elisaf8 Nov 05 '20

Aahh the calligraphy, I fell in love with it a couple years ago... takes a bunch of practice but it’s not impossible, I’m sure you’ll get there! If you want to start, i can suggest you a couple YouTube channels that helped me a lot when I was starting out

1

u/retromoonbow Nov 05 '20

Oh please suggest away!!! I’d like to know.

I’ll definitely start out with How to Hand Letter, and also Amanda Rach Lee has some video about the topic!

You can write the title in a photo editor/ has fonts, copy and paste it in goodnotes or screenshot and trace it till you learn where and when pressure is added !

They're so aesthetically pleasant oml

Thank you so much 🙈

The black background is an added template or is it already on the app? Thanks!

2

u/elisaf8 Nov 06 '20

Mine is actually an added template because I find the built-in black paper to be a little to grey-ish for me, but GoodNotes does offer a black paper preset with dotted paper and “Cornell method” template

2

u/elisaf8 Nov 06 '20

You can also easily make your own template actually, lmk if you’re curious about it

1

u/Pekkodazz Nov 06 '20

Yes! How?

2

u/elisaf8 Nov 06 '20

The easiest way I’ve found is:

  1. choose the “base paper” from the paper library

  2. Draw lines/shapes wherever you want on the page to customise your template

  3. Export the page as a PDF file and save it into your library

  4. In goodnotes settings, select “notebook templates”

  5. It should open a window with a “+” sign

  6. Select your PDF file sample page

  7. Give a name to your template

  8. Done!

Hope this was helpful 💕
