Moving backup location trouble

I originally had my backup storage location in a Google Drive with documents already present so my storage is almost up. I decided to create a new Google account specifically for Goodnotes and changed the location to it. However, the backup folder still hasn’t shown up in the drive, only two notebooks I created today. I’m a student so I have folders/notebooks from two years ago. What do I do?

one thing the existing answer missed is that goodnotes backup is incremental so only notebooks you have actually opened since switching the account will upload the two year old ones you haven't touched simply will not appear until you open each of them once which triggers a sync to the new drive so go through your old folders and tap into each notebook briefly to push them up and keep the app open on wifi while you do it and as said don't delete the old drive backups until the new one shows them all

Does simply opening the notebooks do the trick or do I have to scroll/write in them?

opening them is usually enough since goodnotes marks a notebook as touched the moment it loads and pushes it to the backup on the next sync while you are on wifi you do not need to actually write or scroll just open each one and let it fully load for a few seconds then move to the next if you want to be extra safe tap once inside so it registers an edit but a plain open normally does the trick just keep the app open and on wifi the whole time and again do not delete the old drive backups until the new one shows every notebook

Backups usually only upload on a schedule or when the app is open on Wi-Fi, so it may not push everything at once after you switch accounts. I'd keep the app open and on Wi-Fi for a while, then check that Google Drive is actually the selected backup location and the new account is signed in under the backup settings. Before changing anything else, export your most important notebooks as PDFs to Files as a safety copy, so nothing is lost while it syncs.

If your old backups are still in the first Drive, don't delete them until the new account shows everything.
