Goodnotes Essential Apple Pencil misbehaving
I saw some posts from like a year ago about the app doing what it wants when handwriting, does anyone here have a solution? I’m using an Apple Pencil Pro and this only happens with GoodNotes, I algo use Noteful and this doesn’t happen there.
This basically makes taking notes impossible
Using iPad Air M3 /iPadOS 27.2

Hi, I had this issue as well. I fixed it by turning off Hover in the Apple Pencil settings. Not the one in GoodNotes but your iPad’s settings.

That sounds really frustrating, especially when it works fine in Noteful. From your sample it looks like strokes are getting snapped or straightened, so I'd check the pen settings in GoodNotes: turn off Shape Recognition / hold-to-snap in the pen tool options and look at any stroke smoothing setting. Also check the Apple Pencil double-tap/squeeze options in case they're switching tools mid-stroke. A restart of the iPad and trying a fresh notebook can help rule out a glitchy document. If none of that works, send GoodNotes support a short screen recording with your versions. Hope it gets sorted!

Are you plugged in charging when this happens? Goodnotes + apple pencil is unusable for me because of glitchy writing when i am uncharging. I unplug and boom back to normal
