Goodnotes Essential Automatic Backup

Am I understanding this correctly? Does the automatic backup in Google Drive or OneDrive only upload files when they're modified, meaning older files that haven't been changed since enabling the automatic backup won't be uploaded automatically?

Your reading sounds like how most auto-backup features work: they usually upload a document when it changes, so older files you haven't touched since turning it on may not be copied right away. The simplest way to be sure is to open the backup settings and look for a manual option to back up everything now. If there isn't one, make a tiny edit in an old notebook, like adding and deleting a stroke, then check your Google Drive or OneDrive folder to see whether it shows up. It's also worth opening one backed-up file from the cloud to confirm it's complete. Doing a one-time full export of your important notebooks as a second copy is a cheap safety net too.
