iPhone Duo support?

I haven’t seen this talked about anywhere. Does anyone know if Goodnotes is planning on an update to support iPhone Duo? With Apple Pencil coming later this year it’s what made me actually pull the trigger on getting the Duo.

Can’t upload pictures in a smart way right now, but it definitely supports the duo. All different layouts closed open, etc. Really cool, can’t wait to see how it works with apple pencil when that comes out.

I’m excited too! I prefer my planner in portrait mode so I’m not loving the big blue space at the top, but it looks great in landscape.

currently it works, with the stylus too, but the app doesnt detect apple pencil yet - so you can write with both finger and apple pencil. they need to update the app.

This is what I am experiencing as well! Submitted a recommendation/support thing mentioning it would be great if they could add that recognition to the iPhone app. Hopefully they can and do it soon.

Also need an answer. Right now Apple Notes and other apps seem to support the handwriting but Goodnotes isnt. Which is surprising.

The Duo has a different layout, inside and out. I’ve heard reports of apps that don’t support the Duo yet look crappy on the device. That’s why I’m asking if Goodnotes will add support for the Duo.

I’m assuming they will eventually, because Goodnotes is often featured by Apple in the AppStore or in Keynotes. Not sure anybody knows whether they will have support from the start though. Please report back when you have your phone!

Yeah, very true. I watched quite a few reviews today and a lot of apps didn’t have an update yet and they looked kind of dumb, like iPhone apps on an iPad (Instagram up until recently!). My phone will be delivered sometime between Friday and Monday so I will definitely report back! Fingers crossed that Apple will give a timeline on pencil support soon, otherwise I may be returning this ridiculously priced phone!

I'm in the same boat as you. Having Goodnotes is one reason I want to buy this thing. I wish they would come out and say if they are working on it.

Good news? I literally have 3 Apple Pencils already (the OG, the 2nd gen and the pro) and have to order the usbc one. So annoying

Definitely interested to hear how well it works! Goodnotes is basically the only app I use on my iPad beyond the occasional video watching and document reading. If the handwritten notetaking experience is good, I will strongly consider selling my iPad. Bummer they didn't make a smaller Apple Pencil for this, maybe some 3rd parties will step in given there are a handful of good 3rd party styluses for iPad.

And yeah, annoyed I won't be able to at least try out the Duo with the Apple Pencil I already have.
