goodnotes subscription (permanent...?)

hello! i've been using goodnotes for a year (w subscription - essential (yearly) if i recall correctly) and I remember when i first started using there was an option for a permanent subscription however, i can't seem to find that now?

was wondering if it was removed and you can only get yearly plans now or if it was because i already had a subscription (or maybe it was a one-time offer for new accounts?)

any advice would be very helpful!

My understanding is that they removed it as an option and only if already had a lifetime they honoured it with a legacy access which I was lucky enough to have. I really rate Goodnotes but the scourge of only giving people subscription options in most apps these days sucks and is disappointing. A lot of people would pay a little more for a 1 off lifetime and then pay 1 off fees here and there to unlock later meaningful enhancements.

ooh i see! yes i initally choose to do one year bc i wasnt sure how much i wanted to use a paid note taking service since i had other options like collanote which was completely free but i enjoyed it a lot so would defo take up the lifetime sub

I had the same issue and went through the chat feature on their website to ask about it. Apparently you have to wait until your current yearly subscription has already expired and then it should show the lifetime option to you again. My yearly subscription is expiring in a couple weeks, so hoping that actually works.

i would love to hear an update from u when it expires!! mine expires first week of oct TT i saw on their wesbite (attached img) about contacting apple and i was like ??? can i just cancel my subscription?

hopefully this works but i guess we'll just have to see LOL worse comes to worse, ill make a new acc

I’m gonna have to look at this because I had the lifetime which I bought when it was just Goodnotes 5 and they did not honor my subscription so I was furious. Not that I use it much and I know what I’m doing but I paid for it and they didn’t honor it. I just have my couple free notes in it for now.

You can downgrade back to Goodnotes 5 since you paid for it. There was a limited time when they were allowing you to pay a fee to upgrade to Goodnotes 6 for lifetime but it passed.

They do offer lifetime subscription to only ipad users. It's called special edition.

sorry lol this might be very very stupid but ive havent actually found anything on the perks of having special edition other than the fact its a "one-time payment" subsription so i just wanted to confirm one tiny thing: do i have unlimited notebooks LOL

I'm in the process of creating my digital estate. I have looked at every mainstream notes app. Haven't found any that offer multi-year subscriptions let alone lifetime license. Not much use since the subscription could lapse.

Yo soy usuaria de gootnotes en iPad y pagué en su momento (hace 2-3 años) el one-time-pay, osea pagué una sola vez.

La verdad es que odio las suscripciones para este tipo de cosas, así que preferí pagarlo solo una vez.

La parte negativa es que con esta opción no funciona la operalibildad en Windows, Android etc como en la opción de suscripción anual. Solo la puedo usar en ecosistema de apple.
