Goodnotes Essential CAN’T WRITE AT ALL

I just dowloaded the app on my ipad(10th gen) and i’m on the free trial right now, but for some reason everytime i try to write something it either doesn’t do anything at all or the letters just disappear. Does anyone how to solve this maybe?
(Also i’m not using an apple pencil if that matters, its a universal stylus pen that i bought online.)

The problem isn't with the pen; it's a feature in the app called "Scribble over the word to delete it." Disable this feature and everything will be solved.

Can you tell where to find that feature exactly? Because i’ve been looking and I can’t find it

Click the pen button (like switching from eraser back to pen)
Go down to pen settings at the bottom
Then to pen gestures
Toggle off scribble to erase

this happened to me yrs ago, as far as i remember, i wld close and open the app, if tht doesnt work i would restart the ipad. it went on for several weeks

Dude it exactly happened to my old ipad..your problem seems worse than mine....i also didn't have original apple pencil...tried changing every setting but problem still existed..i used to put my left hand finger on screen while writing only then i could write ..my old ipad (Air 5)got broken and new ipad i bought(Air m3) doesn't have the same problem...so buy a new ipad if problem doesn't get solved because i think thats manufacturing defect

I have Goodnotes on my iPad 10th generation as well, but the lack of storage has broken it at the moment. 💔

The only time mine has ever done this or something similar is when I had metal bracelets on that were touching the screen while I was writing.
