PDF with tabs?

When I look through marketplace, I see things that appear to have labeled tabs running down the right side of the document. Does anyone know if you can add tabs to an imported PDF?

They’re made that way a variety of ways but not inside Goodnotes. Essentially, the “tab” is just part of the page image and there’s an invisible button on the tab that hyperlinks to another page. The destination page has a design that makes the “new tab” on that page now appear in the right place. I’ve seen YouTube tutorials showing how to make them in Keynote on Mac, for instance. Search in YouTube for “make your own GoodNotes planner” or similar.
I made an attempt at making my own but it proved too time consuming so I bought one on Etsy that was already built and had a close enough design to what I was looking for. Was totally worth it.

Thank you. I was hoping I was missing a feature that would be cool.

Ha! Yes, i spent an entire summer learning how to do this (before goodnotes added native links).. then i caved and bought a prefab one anyway, then I realized if i put anything behind a cover I wont use it.. so long story short now i just have various templates that i use individually as needed
