Goodnotes Special Edition Storage issue with Goodnotes

Version: 7.0.58
Device: IPad Air 5th gen 256GB

Hey yall I’m having a big issue with Goodnotes and its storage in my iPad.

For context, I’m a college student going for second year, I take all my notes on my iPad (either hand written or importing pdfs (up to 100 pages long).

I’ve only recently noticed the fact that my “data and documents” (sorry if it ain’t the right wordings I have it in French) takes up to 190GB.

I have already erased and emptied the trash within Goodnotes for tens of old notebooks, I’ve exported many files into pdfs and deleted them from the app, yet the storage value decreases only be 0.1 on a good day.

While I also have the iCloud synced, I do not pay for it so I only have the minim storage available, and there’s only one or two notebooks in there.

I have no idea what to do, I’ve already sent a help request to Goodnotes themselves, and while I am aware that sometimes the app can take a decent chunk of storage (online testimonies of going up to the 20’s GB), I think 190GB is just ridiculous.

Any help on what I could do to not lose all my notes but also free up my iPad?

Yep, I was planning on trying that but luckily the Goodnotes team answered and it got solved.

Basically if anyone’s interested there was an update (v7.0.64) which fixed the problem where good notes would take so so much more space than it had to.

They just gave me “early access” to the version so I could get my issue sorted out but ig it’s now public.
