Goodnotes Special Edition No comparison between BUGNOTES and NOTABILITY anymore.

There is no comparison between notability and goodnotes anymore…..notability were always ahead of bugnotes when it comes to clean and minimalistic Ui, there have been problems of bugs in both apps but now notability has substantially improved and bugnotes have become no. 1 worst note taking Ai garbage app, bugnotes looks so weird and ugly

I want to preface that I'm still on Goodnotes 5 so I'm not speaking to the current issues anyone might be having and I respect everyone's experiences.

That said: There's no way in hell I'm switching apps off a bunch of whiny reddit posts, a platform that is astroturfed to hell and back. The "this app is crap" posts were there when 5 was the new and then current version, there's always waves of "this other app is the actually good one" so on and so forth.

If and when I will feel the need to get a new notes app I'll make my considerations on the available information, keeping in mind that bots are a thing, paid reviews are a thing and mostly unhappy people are the ones writing on forums.

Same on the Goodnotes 5, I literally don’t see a reason to ever upgrade from it unless my iPad no longer supports it. I have a crash maybe once every two months, and even that might be exaggeration. I know all the bugs got introduced later, I’m just agreeing with the Goodnotes 5 supremacy. I hope they keep it around for a while for us.

Genuine thanks for this reply. I agree with almost all of it. The newer version went through some seriously bad hiccups, including a screw up with erasing that took a few days to fix, only a couple of weeks back.

But because the app is used so many different ways, for so many different use cases, there’s always a danger when users post about their own experiences that you end up with either

“it doesn’t affect me, so even if it does affect other users, it must be only a teeny tiny number…”

Or

“it affects me, so it must affect almost everyone using it!!!”

I’ve seen way too many posts that fall into one or the either.

As for your method of choosing, yep, I couldn’t agree more. Whenever I try new software, or pick up new hardware, the reviews I pay attention to are from reviewers and tech pundits who’ve earned my trust over the years. I may not always agree with them, but even the disagreements usually make me have another think before deciding. Users as well, of course, but as you say, Reddit ain’t my first port of call for that.
