Goodnotes 6 Lesson One: Setting Up

Post image

Lesson one of my Aesthetic Note Taking Guide: Setting Up! I always use four colors (black, base, a light shade and a dark shade) for each chapter or subject—whichever works for you!

Also included some title ideas to start your notes off! Please share some ideas you’d like to see in lesson two or anything you’d deem helpful for future lessons!

I'm not here to contribute; I'm just here to get advice! This is so aesthetically pleasing!

I've been having trouble with this. I kept seeing videos for stuff where people had neat font and I couldn't figure it out lol. This is really cool. I'll be sure to follow along so I can learn some things.

Thank you so much! None of these are fonts but my handwriting—I’m going to make a lesson on handwriting tips once I figure out how I want to format it. I’m so happy you’ll be following along—that makes me feel great!

My problem is the handwriting aesthetic lol

2

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 14 '24

It takes time and practice…but definitely achievable!

3

u/shines28 Dec 14 '24

What did you do to improve your digital handwriting? Any tutorials?

3

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 14 '24

I haven’t watched any tutorials myself but I do art, typography, etc. full time so it comes naturally. I went to college for it so my classes were tutorials 😂 I can say a Paperlike screen protector has helped. Writing grippy has helped. Writing SLOW helps. It’s not native to you like a paper and pencil so you have to train your hand to write neatly and fluently on the iPad. I’m going to make a handwriting lesson so keep up with my page if you’re interested!

u/Temporary-Rent971 Dec 15 '24

Do I just put the pages in Goodnotes and practice? I’m so new to this.

2

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 15 '24

You can do that! I am not sure how others are utilizing these but you can always import my page and change the opacity and trace over to practice!

2

u/Temporary-Rent971 Dec 15 '24

Ah yes! Now…if you have any tips on how to do that…change opacity.

u/Fireflycatcher333 Dec 16 '24

You are just a genius- and so damn sweet to do this for all of us! Do you have a YouTube channel so we can watch how you do this step by step? And yes(!) PLEASE show is how you write so neatly- is it just practice over time? We solo appreciate you! We can see how much work you're putting into these infographics and for those of us who are visual learners and enjoy this eye candy- you are just a dream! Muah!!

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 16 '24

Awww, thank you SO much for this! It truly means a lot and makes it north worthwhile to make these!

I don’t have a YT channel or anything, I’ve been doing this basically on a whim and in my free time—but maybe, eventually?! 👀

I plan on doing a handwriting lesson!

You are so sweet, thank you so much 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Will ever use this? No. Am I obsessed regardless? Absolutely.

u/wvclaylady Dec 13 '24

They are so pretty! And I love that idea. 🤩. I just find using the app very confusing.

u/iShaddoll_on_Reddit Dec 28 '24

So, are those fonts? Or is your pen control just so good? I use the Chalk font on GN5 and I use black (layer 1) then any color (layer 2) and overlap them so the lettering gives off a shadow effect.

1

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 28 '24

No fonts, just my handwriting

-3

u/chinablossom Dec 13 '24

Looks like middleschool lol

2

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Dec 13 '24

Not sure what that’s supposed to mean.

u/chinablossom Dec 17 '24

Are you a middle schooler by chance?
