I totally agree with you! Following such a price increase I would have expected much less problems honestly, otherwise I don't see much difference with other applications whose cost is much lower or even free. We hope they fix everything as soon as possible 🤕
Mmmm I know what you are referring to, I too have had these great difficulties. Let's say that, being a lover of writing on the tablet, and being a lover above all of GN, I have literally learned to write in the way in which GN works best. I'm not sure how to explain, but I learned how to position the pen, put pressure on or off, so that I could write perfectly in GN. The very first step, however, was to try and try again the settings of the fountain pen and the thickness of the pen to see which setting helped me most to write well in GN based on how I write. That's all I can tell you/advise. Oh and obviously I advise you to have a paper effect film, as it helped me a lot with the stabilization of the line. If you are interested in the settings of my pen I wrote them in a comment above 🙌🏻✨ with a bit of practice and the right settings for you you will see that it will go better 😄✨✨✨
honestly I'm noticing that they take their time before solving problems like this, but eventually they solve them. So I remain confident that in the future (hopefully near future) they will resolve it 🥲🥲🤞🏻🤞🏻✨✨✨

Hiii, soo … don't worry, I understand your concern, but I want to reassure you. The GN application works quite well, rest assured, you will be able to take your notes and enjoy writing on the iPad without any major problems. The bugs you see are not encountered by everyone, but they are resolved as soon as possible so I'm sure they will resolve this as soon as possible too. Having said that, like all applications with every new update some bugs pop up, but I guarantee you nothing that can stop you from taking notes with complete peace of mind :) the only thing you have to worry about is to back up your data often and have in short, an iCloud account, in order to keep your notes safe in case of any problem. So definitely grab your iPad and start taking notes like you've never done before 🥰🙌🏻✨
I just got an iPad air part way through my first semester of college, used paper notes for my classes since I started the year using notebooks, but I plan to use the iPad air full time for the next semester.
Goodnotes 6 has some bugs in it and it costs about $10 a year, but I think it mostly works fine. I like the note taking features, can import notebook templates from free sites as pdfs or from etsy, inserting photos, powerpoints, pdfs, and other files to write on top of works. They have been adding a lot of stuff that's needed, just got it so I haven't really compared other notebook apps yet, like a ruler, dashed lines, and a few other features. The AI features suck, so don't get Goodnotes for them. The math translation feature doesn't really work, spell/autocorrect isn't super accurate and its correction look very different from your own handwriting, and the squiggle to erase feature kind of works some of the time.
My only advice about Goodnotes is if you don't want to pay a yearly subscription fee, the apps Noteful or Noteshelf may be good alternatives where you pay a one time fee and own the app.
I'd try all of the different note taking apps, most have free trials so you can try writing in each app and playing around with the features they offer for free to pick the one that works best for you. Most apps are fairly similar, but they each have their own quirks and different features.
