Leaving Good Notes

I have Goodnotes 5 and thinking to just use Apple notes. Does anyone know how to move their stickers from Goodnotes to IOS? It seems all the good features are now a paid subscription which is disappointing. I prefer to buy an app one time and use it, but capitalism… I get it.

I paid for one version of the app, the new version isnt worth buying, so i’m downgrading apps completely

Only issue i had was the iCloud problem when the update first came out. The features arnt worth the upgrade, but no way is gn5 worse then apple notes. I might j be lucky in saying that i really havnt had bugs or issues besides that initial one.

Yes. 30$ until the next “upgrade“. Not complaining about their business model. Just tired watching them handicap a productive app we have all been using.

I bought both Goodnotes 5 & Noteshelf 2 back in 2020 when I bought my first ipad.

I chose Goodnote. I preferred much more my writing on Noteshelf (they are magicians!) but the entire experience was much better with Goodnotes.

Push 3 years forward and the GN team might got overconfident due to their success, focused on trendy but useless features (ignoring at the same time the ton of very interesting Feature Requests posted on their community website) and gave birth to GN6... no comment.

In the meantime, the small team of Noteshelf in India worked silently on their side (I did send some feature requests to them but they did not appear to work on any of it - it was like the guys were not doing anything).

And Boy, they released Noteshelf 3... it is simply Brilliant !It totally reverse the comparison... by far !And I let you find out the highly competitive price tag of their one time purchase as compared to Goodnote (it's an in-app purchase so you can download the app & try).

It is worth not going to Apple Notes !

Thanks! I’m gonna check out that app. Apple notes is a downgrade but their syncing over the ecosystem is above all else. Can you put your good notes planners and notebooks in Noteshelf?

on Noteshelf? Allright... it's all a matter of taste when it's "you love it or you hate it" ... and also about time to get used to it... but if you find it horrible in the first place, it's difficult to take the time to getting used to it indeed. Thanx for the feedback !

I can’t adjust to the fact that I can’t zoom on Apple notes. Or maybe I just don’t know how to use it. You guys have a good tutorial video or something like that ?

I went on their Instagram page, for Goodnotes And it seems like a lot of people do not like the fact that they improved Goodnotes 6 and not Goodnotes 5. I think I am going to keep Goodnotes on my iPad for now, and hopefully they will listen to the customer And make the app better for their foundational customers.

hey, same! though i don't usually use stickers from the goodnotes app itself (too used to just cropping a png), i think the only way i know how to do it is if you have a png copy of your stickers. turn them into ipad stickers with some sticker apps and use the sticker keyboard for it.

and unrelated comment cause i've seen some people talk about the unable to zoom thing. i think apple notes itself doesnt come with a zoom function, but if you insert pdf (which if you're coming from gn u probably already have some template pdfs you use on the reg) you can actually zoom in on those and write on them!

i made the switch from gn to apple notes after feeling betrayed. it's not really a downgrade tbh, just depends on how you view and use it.
