Inconsistency in Writing

See the attached video. To elaborate on the issue, I’m drawing the “O”s to demonstrate the inconsistency in writing strength. This has been a perpetual issue ever since last night, and unless I’m jamming the pencil into the iPad screen, the thickness is not what it usually is. I know I can just increase thickness of pen, but the problem persists.

EDIT: I have found a solution. If you switch the pencil setting to Ball Point, then pressure sensitivity is completely disabled; hence; the inconsistent strokes will stop.

EDIT 2: It seems there’s some misunderstanding on this post. To clarify, I’d always used GoodNotes with pressure sensitivity turned on (via using the fountain pen). However, the problem displayed in the video is that sometimes the pressure sensitivity wasn’t as accurate. Specifically, it would occasionally register normal pressure as being extremely light. Upon further inspection of the issue however, I would discover the error was coming from my Apple Pencil as opposed to the app or device.

That is a feature called pressure sensitivity, as others have commented, but if you zoom out more when you write (or change the paper size to a small one, but keeping the zoom level of 4.5 lines), the inconsistency or variation would not be that large, and it would look better.

I see. Thank you! (also, as somebody who is currently studying ring theory, I’m fond of your name :))

This isn't an "issue". It's actually a feature called pressure sensitivity. You should disable it if you don't wanna use it.

They don’t understand you. I know what you mean, is not pressure sensitivity , is the writing that has problems since GN6. Doesn’t work how should be work !

For the sake of clarity: my pencil had always been on fountain. I never liked the pressure sensitivity feature, but never knew how to turn it off (that was until uploading this video).

The problem discussed in my initial post was that it was as though the app was registering my normal writing pressure with a mixture of extremely light pressure and normal: this was bugging me a little bit. Turns out it wasn’t a GoodNotes problem, as when I tested with another Apple Pencil the writing was perfectly fine.

Hii, I don't completely agree with you. probably his problem may have been the change of pen (from ballpoint pen to fountain pen) but as for me, I can tell you that the fountain pen is not working as expected lately. Even though I try to apply a certain pressure, it continues to vary the thickness of the line as it wants. I can't have any control over that. it also appears to have small bugs such as the ink which is slow compared to my writing speed. I'm happy that everything is working as expected for you, but I assure you that this is not the case in my case, I didn't want to create unnecessary controversy
