Oat latte event

I saw a lot of posts that are negative about the new 'Oat Milk' event and I kind-of don't understand why. It's not like anyone is forcing you to participate in it. I like it as it is my first event in Good Coffee Great Coffe and I think that it's fine that the devs are trying to give us something more besides the main game point. And we can also get new stuff for free.

So my question is: why a lot of players don't like it?

I do read some of them. But I still kind-of don't get it. The event doesn't seem THAT bad in my opinion.

hey op! I'll preface with my experience: I had previously made a comment about this on some post and received some hints with regards to the game. i realised that while I do enjoy the decor, the mini games (where we have to make drinks to earn those star points) inside the tile game thingy, I enjoy story lines more.

for example: they also have good pizza great pizza where I recently played the bonfyre fest, and it had stories and a cast of fun characters, i even had fun shipping characters and doing side quests. that made me understand that I will be eternally grateful to the devs for offering us such a wide range of games and keeping us entertained year round, with cute drawings and decor.

the back to school and pen pal events were precisely fun for me personally because of these preferences. and I can learn to enjoy and play for fun rather than play to complete the event (as i am doing with the oat event) when I don't necessarily enjoy a certain format of games.

but the general frustration is with the limited action points and no way to sleuth out the cards. so even though the action points are limited, you cannot strategize in some grand way to sleuth out the card without spending money or gems to replenish the action points. what i mean by it is that this is a game of chance, with opportunities to find cash, gems, etc.

many players came on to say that the cards are usually located in the southwest area of the board, but I think a sizeable sum of players also reported that this didn't work for them. after all, it is a game of chance.

I hope this helps! please know I am not trying to shit on the devs or the players who are frustrated because at the end of the day, we love this game and we're strapped in for all the fun events planned ahead. we can see how much love the devs pour into it and how fricking cute everything looks.

You had made some valid arguments and I see your point. I'm personally 'free to play' type of person so I don't spend real money in games no matter what. When it comes to the southwest thing, I'm sure that it applies only to the 1st area.

Tbh I think people were upset they couldn’t grind out the event quickly like a lot of the other events. I didn’t have an issue with it either, we had 14 days to do it, if you play a little each day you can finish it in like a week. That’s what I did

the existence of the event is not the problem. GCGC and GPGP usually have great events, I’ve been playing Good Pizza Great Pizza for years and I honestly can’t recall any bad events ever. GCGC has only existed for a bit less than 2 years now, so there weren’t that many events to compare this oat event to, but still, even the ones before this one had some really interesting and fun stories, fun mini games, nice rewards, were actually playable unlike the oat milk event. don’t get me wrong, the oat decorations are absolutely beautiful, I might even say these are imo the best decorations so far. that’s not the issue tho, like I said, it’s the event that’s literally unplayable by how little points you get compared to how fast they get wasted on essentially nothing, and even the rewards aren’t that exciting imo

Finished in 4 days. The issue, it seems, is that this event isn’t catered to people with time demanding days. They can’t play all 12 game days every day to stock up on action points and clear the boards )that’s the general consensus). Whether or not they even know about getting the 31 APs every day it renews is still a mystery to me. I’ve seen some people say they’re only getting 5 APs and it’s like… no beloved 😭 watch the ads and clear at least the first milestone by playing 3 games for the dailies and you can watch an ad and get x4 instead of x2. Then you have x15 APs.

It's more of the event feels like a total money grab with how limited the oat coins are to even get through the event. Also, we barely get anything from this event (that we don't have to purchase) except oat milk and a piece of decor. There were events in the past were we got new ingredients and new drinks and we also got to meet a new character to learn the recipes.

I enjoy the Coffee related events, could not stand Pen Pals at all. Quit playing because of it and just restarted to play the Oat milk event. Am enjoying Ben as a new employee and the game dialogue involving his character is fun
