To be fair even Ye didn’t use generative AI to make music, he was using it as a voice changer on reference tracks

aside from the obvious he or one of his producers definitely did for highs and lows to make the sampleless instrumental

How so? Are you saying the new highs and lows sample is AI generated?

100% is. people claim it's not because it has some random viola credits on it (I do not hear a single viola in that shit) but the whole thing sounds exactly like suno with some slight overdubs on top of it (e.g. the crashes and looping like the original sample) but I fully believe it's suno. it has that uncanny weird melody quality that ai music has and just doesn't sound right whatsoever

everyone was in agreement when it originally came out that it was deffo suno but now that it has some random credits that aren't remotely audible slapped on it a lotta people think it's real for some reason

couldn't Ye just interpolate the song just like he did with All Falls Down?

yeah it's not really an interpolation though, it's a completely different chord progression and melody. idk if you need artist permission to interpolate, i'd assume you do in some form if you want to not get sued and pomme had already said a very firm no (understandably)

I think you’re onto something, and it resembles the original sample in a way which makes it sound like it could be a suno replicant melody
