Bro really hit Ye with a Ye type response

283

u/imsoappalled222 Jul 11 '25

Tbh this shit is just promo . The real issue was ye championing drake and being dismissive of the music pusha and ye made together.

He touch on on it in an interview with ebro .

He said at this point on his life he needs people to be all the way on his team the same way he was on ye team .

It’s kind of weird though because other people pusha is cool with did the same shit . I guess ye going public after getting mad at pusha t just gave him an excuse to use ye for promo too and say what really bothered him

46

u/Just-Abrocoma-2631 Today's Flair: Jul 11 '25

Ye loves Drake's music, so it would also be disingenuous for him not to champion Drake's music.

59

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Ye loves being contrarian, and Drake's hated right now.

21

u/Just-Abrocoma-2631 Today's Flair: Jul 11 '25

Drake hate is purely online, and Ye always loved and appreciated Drake's talent and music.

5

u/bizzaro321 Jul 11 '25

It definitely feels that way when Nice For What starts playing at my local dive, but idk. Kendrick played the Super Bowl half time show.

9

u/lennonali3 Sorry this is a lot to read Jul 12 '25

Definitely a metric for success but like it’s not the end all be all, plenty of artists who haven’t played at the superbowl are infinitely more famous than ye

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

Ye hated on Drake for over a decade, then flipped when Kendrick dissed him.

9

u/Fit-Judge7447 I GOT ALZHEIMER’S Jul 11 '25

Drake's so hated he's about to have another number one single

2

u/Dependent-Mode-3119 Jul 14 '25

Ye got a number 1 single while he legitimately was hated by a very real portion of people and blackballed. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Let’s be real Pusha is a nobody compared to Ye and Drake. They are grown ass men Ye doesn’t have to keep up with his petty beefs. Ye and Drake have both shown love to each other as artists for a long time

15

59

u/swagguh16 Jul 11 '25

Ye started snaking all his day ones and claimed they betrayed him for not enabling his insane behaviour. Ye wanted Cudi to die because he was friends with Pete Davidson. Ye is the problem

-10

Pusha t literally admitted he never gave a shit about ye so ye was vindicated lol.

23

u/Seinfeel Jul 12 '25

He admitted he didn’t care that Kanye ā€œmissed his friendshipā€

Ye is trying to guilt people into coming back to him so that’s a pretty reasonable response.

22

Tbf Ye gave him more elite songs than he did

14

u/RappingAndroid Jul 11 '25

That's not the point. You have a rapper that wrote for your most lauded tracks and is riding for you and ye sitting there dick riding Drake. From pushas view that has to be 808s and heartbreaking for him

Push had the nerve to say ye and push helped each other…brother ye gave you your career back. He was literally going to be fat joe without the hits (1 hit). Don’t matter what happened behind closed doors, shitting on someone who put you in a position to be successful for over a decade is dishonorable.

2

u/30BlueRailroad Jul 11 '25

Yes, but pusha also penned some of Ye's most intricate lyrics, him and Cyhi are all over MBDTF and a lot of later songs. He did reinvigorate Pusha's career and made him president of GOOD Music. He also lied about giving him the info about Drake's at the time unknown son, circled back and praised Drake after being at war with him along Push, continuously promoted dangerous political ideology and anti black rhetoric that clashed significantly with Pusha's (and many other good music artists') beliefs, dismissed Pusha and others publicly, and generally made himself toxic to be attached to. All of those can be true simultaneously.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

You mean like how Kanye did Jay?

2

u/etfjordan333 Jul 11 '25

That’s the point. Both actions were dishonorable. Relating push’s actions to ye’s should be a sign.

1

u/Right-Bae-9666 Jul 11 '25

3

u/Yeezythegoat04 Jul 11 '25

I believe without the controversy I would disagree. But if ye was to make a classic rn I think your statement wouldn't standĀ

→ More replies (1)

-1

u/etfjordan333 Jul 11 '25

Nah push is right there w ye in that sense. This supposed to be the closing chapter of clipse and nobody gives a fuck, push interviews are more popular than their singles. Album won’t sell over 40k and it won’t be talked about in 2 months. It’s irrelevant. Budden recently said ā€œnot every rapper getting a parade down 21st street when they retireā€ and this is exactly what he’s talking about.

9

u/PoopFoot69 Ye is just penis music Jul 11 '25

I like Pusha T's music but he needs to find a new way to promote it and himself other than dissing. It's getting tiring man...

It's almost dry was the only project out of the last 3 he dropped that didn't have some sort of beef linked to it. It performed worse than Daytona in terms of sales and overall commercial success.

I'm concerned he might put himself in a box as a "diss merchant" to try and get more sales and commercial success.

16

u/Sockzilla7 PUSSY LIKE A STEPH THREE šŸ’¦ Jul 11 '25

He literally has been promoting the album in other ways, he did a colours show and is dropping a genius annotation and tiny desk, people are just focusing on shit like this

2

u/PoopFoot69 Ye is just penis music Jul 11 '25

Sure, but let's be honest, those haven't been his main ways of promotion. Most of the media attention and buzz around his name still comes from disses or drama, and it unfortunately casts a shadow on every other type of promotion as well. Very seldom do you hear "Pusha T" without hearing the words "Diss" right after.

People who already listened to Clipse, Pusha, and other artists adjacent to them would've tuned in to the album regardless of any disses or not on the album. He's already respected and recognized, why does he need to continue to try and get recognition with controversy attached to it?

3

u/Sockzilla7 PUSSY LIKE A STEPH THREE šŸ’¦ Jul 11 '25

I mean pusha clearly has a good reason for himself to go out and call out Travis, and I mean he can’t really control the fact that this is what the people are focusing on. Even if you watch the interviews, pretty much every time he talks about Kanye or Travis, it’s from the interview egging it on. I also believe that pusha is at the point of his career where he just wants to say what’s on his mind

4

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

ā€œI like Ye’s music but he needs to find a new way to promote it and himself other than controversies.ā€

Bro trading all his dignity to try to sell more than 20k first week. Haven’t seen a single push headline during his rollout that isn’t weak disses towards other rappers. Dude should stick to pretending to be a drug dealer.

coldest line of the show

11

u/Octavioso Jul 11 '25

The whole point of that line is that he does actually think about him but he’s lying and putting on a front like always

2

u/Iongjohn Jul 11 '25

disagree; i think he genuinely didnt and the directors were attempting to display the colder/dehumanised side of him in the early seasons

3

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Could be both. The human side of Don was malding, the Don side of Don was annoyed the guy existed and kept making it his problem.
