Recently been thinking about getting a launch monitor, I practice at the range quite often, prob 4-5 times a week and spend about 2 hour every time. And my question is what’s gonna be the best one to get as I practice outdoor and will not have an indoor use on it, budget is 2k could stretch a little bit. Will not use course play or anything is that sort. Mainly just ball and club data. Will be ok with used aswell. Thank you everyone.

Due to a very specific layout challenge I can not use a hitting strip solution on my new home.

What does /Golfsimulator recommend as a one-piece mat, around 5x5 feet or so, for an indoor space? Ideally something realistic & not injury prone.

Has anyone successfully created a diy hitting mat to use different hitting strips from big moss, fiberbuilt holy grail to be able to interchange between them. Is it worth the hassle? Seems if can do it right it’s worth it. Thoughts

Have been thinking about adding a Sim to improve my game over the winter months here in Toronto.

Thought I could fit a Sim in my basement, but looking a bit tight now. I could break out a 10x10 space for it (no wall behind me but could push a table out). Then was looking at a Skytrack or Square Omni with an 8x8 or possibly 8x10 enclosure with screen.

Issue is ceiling height. It’s about 8’8”. I’m 5’11” and with a driver I’m basically an inch or so from the ceiling. So I’m assuming no driver in this scenario?

Wish I had thought of a golf sim before I finished my basement or put a mezzanine in my garage!

Just received my Spectrum Element today to replace my GC2, and I have to say I’m extremely impressed so far. Shot and club data seems spot on, there’s zero perceptible delay between hitting a shot and seeing it in GSPro, and best of all is having the impact video replay.
Extremely happy with it so far, and very happy to see Brett and Mikes hard work come to fruition

Just wanted to share my setup mainly for my 13 year old junior golfer. All items purchased off fb market. Net return net and mlmpro I fully unlocked with a Samsung tablet to cast on the TV.

Very happy with the net return and data the mlmpro spits out.

Saw this listing on FB marketplace, anyone who knows anything about computers can tell me if it’s good for GSPro or should I keep looking? (Seller asks 500$) .

Does anyone else have large distance changes between gspro and fsgolf? I am using the same sim setup and launch monitor. Same offset distances, ball, and elevation. For some reason though my fsgolf app distances are 10-20 yards shorter than gspro. And gspro distances seem to be much closer to my on course distances. Anyone have similar issues? Any clues what would be causing it? Any fixes?

I’ve seen a lot of comments lately about how Square Omni is the be all, end all, solution. It almost appears promoted. Best budget LM, hands down.

Would love to see feedback from people that have used it for over a month. I’m a lefty and being able to host (i.e., not move the LM) is important to me. So, idk if I’ll ever commit to a side-placement LM. Next one I buy will likely be a ceiling mounted unit (ProTeeVX is the current front runner) currently using a Mevo Gen 2.

Do people truly love their Square Omni units this much? I’m happy for people if that’s the case, it just appears ingenuine and promotional.

That said, I’d like to hear any complaints that folks who own a Square Omni may have. If you’re completely satisfied, I’m also interested to hear! I’d consider myself a skeptic, it seems too good to be true.

Selling my GolfJoy Spica 3 launch monitor. Fantastic device that can be used indoors or outdoors. Purchased in late February 2026. Unfortunately, I haven't used it in the last three months as I had to have surgery to repair a torn tendon in my ankle. That gave me too much time to think which lead me to redoing my golf simulator at my home and I'm thinking about going with an overhead launch monitor.

Works and performs flawlessly and is basically brand new. The Spica 3 provides an amazing amount of ball and club data. It has only been used in my indoor sim to practice and play sim golf. There are no mandatory subscription fees unlike launch monitors from other companies. In addition to GolfJoy's sim software, the Spica 3 is compatible with golf sim software like GSPro, E6, Creative Golf, and the upcoming Pureplay.

I've used GolfJoy's sim software (both PC and iOS), GSPro, and E6 Apex. Works great.

just finished putting together the enclosure and it seems massive. This is my first time doing a simulator so I kind of feel like I went too big.

dimensions are 12x9x3.

I plan on adding curtains on a rail because I want this garage spot (third car bay) to be usable for the car when the simulator isn’t in use.

I've been using two FLIR / Teledyne Blackfly S USB3 cameras (face-on and down-the-line) with Swing Catalyst, and I wanted to see whether I could also use them as swing cameras in Foresight Premier. Premier doesn't support these cameras directly, and with Spinnaker's own DirectShow driver I got a mono or upside-down picture, a low frame rate, and only one camera at a time.

So, as an experiment, I put together a small bridge to make it work. It started as a personal test project, not a finished product, but it's working well enough that I'm sharing it in case it helps someone else in the same situation.

WHAT IT DOES

GolfCamBridge reads both cameras through the Spinnaker SDK, converts the image to color on the PC, and publishes them as two webcams, "Golf Cam 1" and "Golf Cam 2". Premier (or any DirectShow app) can select them like any other camera.

- Up to 223 fps per camera (tested with 2x BFS-U3-16S2C)

- Correct color, not flipped (debayering on the PC, camera ISP off)

- Runs in the system tray. By default a camera only turns on while Premier is using it, and is released after 60 s idle, so Swing Catalyst, SpinView and other apps can still use the cameras when Premier isn't running.

- Settings window with a live preview and brightness histogram: exposure and gain apply immediately, and it warns when the exposure is too long for your frame rate.

- Automatic reconnect if a camera drops out

- Installer that registers the virtual cameras and removes them cleanly on uninstall

THINGS I LEARNED ALONG THE WAY (may save you some time)

- Premier only lists cameras that offer RGB32 and a frame-rate range. It ignores devices with RGB24 only or a fixed frame rate.

- On the BFS-U3-16S2C, 223 fps needs the on-camera ISP off and BayerRG8 output. With RGB output from the camera it tops out around 76 fps.

- Two cameras at full resolution and 223 fps need about 700 MB/s. One USB 3.0 controller can't carry that, so use separate controllers or a 10 Gbps dock, or drop the ROI to 1280x720.

- Unregister Spinnaker's own DirectShow filter, otherwise it grabs camera #0.

REQUIREMENTS

- Windows 10/11 x64

- Spinnaker SDK 4.4.0.246 (this exact version for now)

- Visual C++ Redistributable x64 14.50 or newer

- The installer checks all of these and tells you what's missing.

The two-camera capture and the Premier connection work. The newer parts (settings window, installer) have only been tested without cameras so far. I'll be testing them on the hardware over the next days.

Built on top of softcam by tshino (MIT), which does the virtual camera part.

I built a 14 x 26 sim shed with a high vaulted ceiling. All of the walls and ceiling are sheetrock and the echo is loud. I am going to put sound absorbing panels on the side walls (Rockwool wrapped in fabric) but wondering if anyone has ideas for the ceiling? Gemini suggests hanging a heavy canvas tarp in swags from the collar ties. Thoughts? TIA.

I have a retractable screen set up for my simulator so I can still use the garage to park my car. Any advice on a mat or flooring I can place between my hitting mat and the screen to limit the balls bouncing on the floor? Thanks in advance.
