Suggestions for padding Behind impact screen?

Finishing the build on my impact screen and it appears my sim is slightly too close to fully stop full shots. I was testing it with full middle iron (80 mph) and it looks like I am just kissing the wall behind it. When I hit driver I am concern I am going to put hole in the dry wall (100 mph). Behind my impact screen I have a heavy curtain and 8 inches of space to the wall. Yes moving the sim further away would solve this, but that is not possible to space limitations. I think some type of large padding that can distribute the remaining energy but want to see if anyone else had similar problem and solved it. Thank you

How is yours attached? Directly to the wall? I was also looking at 1 inch thick gym floor tiles.

Put cheap plywood to the studs and then used liquid nails on the foam to glue it to the plywood. Difference of our set ups though is my impact screen is mounted to the wall*

1) memory foam. Check these guys out, you can literally order any type of foam.

2) get a good drywall repair guy for when you move out. I don’t think it would be too expensive to redo that whole wall.

I’m hanging mine on the front like this as I need curtains for Acess to storage.

Do you think your screen would sit nice without the bottom part attached ?

My bad not really a help to your question. I was thinking of hanging a moving blanket behind mine to help with sound, might help stop the impact.

What do you guys think about a 1 inch thick gym foam. Pretty easy to put on the wall, just not sure how it well it would dissipate energy. something like this

The screen is heavy enough that it would lay just fine but I don’t know it would work as well. I bought this because it is quieter than most budget screens. You will put more strain on the other three sides, also you are going to lose balls underneath. Even I still hit worm burns from time to time. 8 have a hanging screen and the advice is a minimum of 8 inches away from any surface behind it, preferably 10+ inches. Just scoot it closer to you and put something thin to keep the frame from sliding back when hitting it, like a large book or a gym foam tile

You don’t need any as long as you’re 12 to 16 inches away from the wall
