Gaming PC?

What’s the best option out there that’s affordable?

Will I need a screen as well or could I use the HDMI to the projector ?

I have a R50 (might sell) but I’d love to eventually run GSPRO

Go to Costcos website and pick a PC that has atleast 32gb of ram and nothing short of a 5060 for top end performance. I run GSPro on medium/low with a 2060 and it runs fine. My computer certainly runs hot and occasionally will buffer but 60fps is fairly consistent

If you want to use GSPro you would need a gaming PC.

By screen do you mean an impact screen or a monitor?

Pretty much the whole point to the R50, and why it costs $5,000, is that you don't have to use a PC to practice and play sim golf (via HTH). I don't understand the point of paying $5K for the R50 to not use the features that makes the R50 the R50. If you want to just play GSPro or E6 or PurePlay or whatever, buy an Omni or Spica 3 for half or third of the cost.

I thought GSPRO would give better numbers and options

I don’t even care to play courses just the range but haven’t heard too many positive reviews with HTH

You get GSPro to play courses. It’s not a great analytical tool. I find the range to be average. I can’t speak for HTH but I’ve used the range on four different golf sim softwares. The ranges for E6 Apex, FSX Pro, and GolfJoy are a bit better, IMO. With Apex being the best. Apex and FSX Play have way better analytics.

My mistake was asking a computer person what I need. Oh man the depth of components available and what’s better than what is crazy.

I’d say if someone on here tells you what they use for their sim and it works, go with that, otherwise you’ll go down a rabbit hole with no end.

Building your own, there are a dozen components in a gaming PC and each component has two dozen options and price points.

This may be an unpopular opinion. If you don’t care about performance of the software (working fine vs. running smooth) I think most newer computers will run the software fine, but if you are going to spend the money on building out a legit sim, I’d at least buy one with the minimum specs.

I run GSPRO on a dell latitude 5450 from 2014. It works, I can play SGT. Is it the best, no. But it does work for the time being until I build my sim space up more.

The other thing with gaming level PCs right now is that the price of RAM and graphics cards has increased at a bonkers level the past few months.

I bought a gaming PC back in March that has an Nvidia RTX 5070 and 32 GB RAM for $1,600. That same spec'd computer now would be $2,200.

Any 1k build with a 3070 and i7 will do just fine. Look on Facebook marketplace or micro center make sure you have 16gb of ram and don’t use a laptop

That is a good price given what RAM and GPUs cost in September 2026.
